  • Patent number: 7459004
Abstract: A mounting structure for an air cleaner on a combustion engine according to the present invention includes an engine cover (9) for covering at least a portion of the combustion engine (E). The cover (9) includes an air cleaner casing (81) having an opening and an air cleaner cover (83) for covering the opening of the air cleaner casing (81). Flanges (81f, 83f) are formed in respective joint portions of the air cleaner casing (81) and the air cleaner cover (83). The mounting structure also includes a slider (10) movable between a disengagement position and an engagement position in a direction parallel to the joint portions. This slider (10) when moved to the engagement position connects the flanges (81f, 83f) of the air cleaner casing (81) and cover (83), but when moved to the disengagement position the slider (10) enables the cover (83) to be released from the casing (81).

  • Patent number: 5970933
Abstract: A valve structure is disclosed which is mechanically simple and is suited for use in an overhead-valve engine having a hemi-spherical combustion chamber. In the valve structure, inlet valve 3 and exhaust valve 2 are positioned in such a manner that they incline substantially like a "V" in front view to form an acute angle therebetween. Positioned on a first inclined plane U1 are the longitudinal center lines 2a, 4a and 1a of the inlet valve 2, the associated push rod 4 and the associated rocker arm 1, which connects these, respectively. Positioned on a second inclined plane U2 are the longitudinal center lines 3a, 4a and 1a of the exhaust valve 3, the associated push rod 4 and the associated rocker arm 1, which connects these, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4922881
Abstract: A breather device adapted for an internal combustion engine which includes a lubricant separation chamber having a check valve opening by a positive pressure in the crank chamber and being provided with hole(s) communicating the lubricant separation chamber with a crank chamber, a gas exhausting section connected to an intake air line, and with a device for returning a separated lubricant to the crank chamber. The lubricant return device comprises a gap section communicating to a bottom of the lubricant separation chamber and in contact with an end face of an appropriate revolving shaft such as a cam shaft, and forced oil return passage(s) being formed in or on said revolving shaft, which communicate(s) the crank chamber to the gap section, and integrally rotate(s) with the revolving shaft to forcibly send lubricant oil deposited in the gap section to the crank chamber.

  • Patent number: 4647835
Abstract: A portable generator in whose casing are housed an engine and a generator directly connected to and driven by the engine. A single cooling fan is provided at the connecting portion of a crankshaft in said engine and a revolving shaft in said generator to produce a unidirectional cooling air flowing from the generator side through the outside and inside of the generator to the engine side, as well as air intake and exit ports are provided in said casing side walls respectively in the vicinity of the side surface opposite to the engine of said generator and opposite to the generator of said engine, thus resulting in a high cooling efficiency of and an enhanced soundproof effect on the engine and generator as well as in a more compact generating system.

  • Patent number: 4449608
Abstract: An exhaust device for a 2-cycle engine including an exhaust pipe having an expanded portion, and a curved outlet pipe inserted in the exhaust pipe in such a manner that its one end opening is disposed in a position in the expanded portion in which the output power loss of the expanded portion can be decreased and its the other end opening is disposed at one side of the exhaust pipe. The use of a curved pipe as an outlet pipe enables the outlet pipe to be positioned such that its one end opening is disposed in a suitable position in the expanded portion while its the other end opening is disposed at one side of the exhaust pipe, thereby allowing the outlet pipe to have a suitable length and the volume of the resonance chamber in the exhaust pipe to be increased.
