  • Patent number: 4353801
Abstract: A special solvent column for gel-permeation chromatography packed with porous styrene-divinylbenzene type copolymer spherical particles in immersed and swollen state with a special eluent, which is a mixture of hexafluoroisopropanol and a chlorine-containing organic solvent such as chloroform, is effective for enlarging the range of samples to be analyzed and molecular-weight distribution measurement can be conducted rapidly at normal temperatures by using said column.

  • Patent number: 4351910
Abstract: An expandable styrene series resin composition comprising a styrene series resin containing in its molecular structure a group of the formula:--SiY.sub.n R.sub.3-n (I)wherein R is an inert monovalent organic group; Y is a hydrolyzable group; and n is an integer of 1 to 3, and a blowing agent, and if necessary, one or more organosilane compounds having at least two hydrolyzable groups in its molecule, can give foamed articles having excellent heat resistance as well as high degree of expansion and good physical and chemical properties.

  • Patent number: 4323664
Abstract: Granular polymers having a relatively uniform fine particle size as small as about 10 .mu.m can be produced in high yield by suspension polymerization by conducting the polymerization of one or more crosslinkable polymerizable monomers, non-crosslinkable polymerizable monomers or a mixture thereof in the presence of a suspension agent, and if necessary, together with a suspension assistant and/or a non-reactive organic solvent, under stirring accompanying high speed shearing until the percentage conversion becomes 1 to 50% and continuing the polymerization under stirring without the accompanying high speed shearing and mechanical cutting.

  • Patent number: 4294952
Abstract: A polyamide-imide resin obtained by reacting in a cresol type solvent a polyisocyanate containing isocyanurate rings, an aromatic diisocyanate, a lactam and a polycarboxylic acid containing at least one acid anhydride group, said polyisocyanate being used in an amount of 1 to 30 equivalent % and said lactam in an amount of 20 to 80 equivalent % each based on the total isocyanate equivalent can give a resin composition or a varnish suitable for coating, particularly for producing insulated wire excellent in heat resistance, flexibility, resistance to Freon, wear resistance, and the like.
