  • Patent number: 9632809
Abstract: A virtual-machine managing apparatus includes a delay storage unit that stores delay times between a plurality of managers managing a virtual machine; a route extractor that extracts a migration route from a source manager to a target manager based on the delay times between the managers stored in the delay storage unit such that the delay times between the managers are equal to or shorter than a threshold; and a migration controller that migrates the virtual machine from the source manager to the target manager through the migration route while maintaining the operation of the virtual machine.

  • Patent number: 8482096
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor photodetector includes: forming an insulating film on a semiconductor substrate; forming an electrode on and in contact with a predetermined area of a surface of the semiconductor substrate; forming a resist on the insulating film after forming the electrode; forming a power supply layer of a metal on the resist and the electrode; plating a surface of a portion of the power supply layer with a metal coating, after forming the power supply layer, the portion overlying and being in contact with the electrode; after the plating, etching and removing a part of the power supply layer leaving a portion that is covered with the metal coating and is an extension of the electrode; and removing the resist after etching the power supply layer.

  • Patent number: 6188380
Abstract: A combination includes a liquid crystal module having a liquid crystal panel forming a front surface, an opposing back surface, and a backlight structured and arranged to transmit light between the front and back surfaces. A light sensor located behind the back surface detects light transmitted from the backlight through the back surface. The light sensor detects a quantity of light when the backlight is lit at a maximum luminance, and outputs a signal indicative of the quantity of light. A luminance setting means sets a desired luminance by a user as a function of a desired percentage of the maximum lumination of the backlight. A control means controls the luminance of the backlight using the signal as a reference so that the luminance set by the luminance setting means is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5260626
Abstract: In order to eliminate any harmful influence due to electric field radiation on the human body, electric field radiation from a front surface of a cathode ray tube is reduced. A degaussing coil arranged in proximity to a peripheral edge of a front surface of a cathode ray tube is employed advantageously. The degaussing coil is supplied with a voltage which is opposite in polarity to an electric field radiated from the front surface of the cathode ray tube. The reverse polarity voltage is derived from an output signal obtained from an output signal of a horizontal deflection circuit by a flyback transformer and/or derived from a voltage obtained by phase-inverting an anode voltage fluctuating in vertical synchronization.
