  • Publication number: 20130149105
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to enhance the capacity of a turbomolecular pump. A turbomolecular pump is a composite-type vacuum pump that combines a blade portion and a thread groove portion. Openings are formed at a joint portion between a rotor blade holding portion that holds rotor blades and a stepped portion that holds a rotor cylinder portion, such that the openings span both the rotor blade holding portion and the stepped portion. Part of the gas that is evacuated by the blade portions is evacuated by a thread groove portion that is formed of the rotor cylinder portion and a stator thread groove, and the rest of the gas is led into the rotor cylinder portion via the openings, and is evacuated by a thread groove portion that is formed of the rotor cylinder portion and another stator thread groove. Stress derived from rotation of a rotor can be withstood when the openings are formed at the joint portion between the rotor blade holding portion and the stepped portion.

  • Patent number: 8366380
Abstract: A turbo-molecular pump has a housing with intake and exhaust ports. A rotary body is enclosed in the housing and has rotor blades of a series of stages formed so that the outside diameter of at least one stage on the exhaust port side is smaller than that on the intake port side. Stator blades are arranged between the rotor blades and spacer rings are arranged between the stator blades to hold the stator blades at predetermined intervals. The spacer rings are formed so that the smallest inside diameter of at least one stage of the spacer rings on the exhaust port side is smaller than the largest outside diameter of the rotor blades. The housing comprises a casing whose inside diameter is constant or whose inside diameter is smaller at the intake port side than at the exhaust port side.

  • Publication number: 20110200460
Abstract: In a vacuum pump, the temperature of a rotor portion is detected more accurately in accordance with a simple method. A thermistor 51 is disposed on a stator in a state where a sensor unit fixed to a frame 53 by a thin film such as a polyimide film opposes a rotor section that is a target of temperature detection. Further, assuming the non-negligible influence, in terms of measurement, that is exerted by heat from the frame, stator and so forth on the first temperature sensor (heat flow from/to the frame), the rotor temperature is estimated more accurately by detecting that influence via other sensors, to compensate for the drop or rise in temperature in the first temperature sensor, and estimate thereby more accurately the temperature of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 7753661
Abstract: A vacuum pump evacuates gas from a chamber by coaction of a rotationally driven rotor and a stator. An electrical equipment section that rotates the rotor is housed within a stator column integral with the stator. A cooling water pipe is buried in a wall of the stator column near the electrical equipment section. One end of the cooling water pipe branches into a plurality of water inlet ports and the other end branches into a plurality of water outlet ports. One pair of water inlet and outlet ports opens to the outside of the vacuum pump at a side surface of the stator column and another pair of water inlet and outlet ports opens to the outside at the underside of the stator column.

  • Publication number: 20090116959
Abstract: To improve the assembling efficiency of a urbo-molecular pump having a structure in which the outside diameter of a rotor blade on the exhaust port side is smaller than the outside diameter of a rotor blade on the intake port side. Spacer rings 31f to 31h are set to a threadedly grooved spacer 3. Next, a moving section is inserted along the inner wall of a beanng section of a base 24 from the upside and is fixed. Thereafter, the spacer ring 31f to 31h are raised to provide a clearance between the spacer ring 31h and the threadedly grooved spacer 3. A halved stator blade 30 is inserted between rotor blades 9 via this clearance. After insertion, the spacer ring 31h is lowered, and the stator blade 30 is held by the threadedly grooved spacer 3 and the spacer ring 31h and is fixed. In the same way, the stator blade 30 is inserted between the rotor blades 9 via a clearance between the spacer ring 31h and the spacer ring 31g and a clearanoe between the spacer ring 31g and the spacer ring 31f.

  • Publication number: 20080274634
Abstract: Provided are a terminal structure capable of preventing damage due to an excessive force and having high sealing property, and a vacuum pump to which the terminal structure is applied. When a control device (400) undergoes transition to a turbo molecular pump main body (300), a cylindrical wall (603) of a female connector (600) is fit-engaged with a cavity (504) of a male connector (500). As the connection progresses, head portions (511a) at one ends of male pins (511) are inserted into pin insertion elongated holes (624). When, after that, a forward end of the cylindrical wall (603) of the control device (400) abuts a bottom portion (501) of the female connector (600), the female connector (600) on the control device (400) side, which is of low rigidity, is pushed back against an elastic force of waved washers (613).

  • Patent number: 7393228
Abstract: A terminal structure has a first connector arranged at a first member, such as a vacuum pump, and a plurality of connector pins. A second member, such as a control device, is movable toward and away from the first member, and a second member side bolt is arranged at the second member. A second connector has a plurality of connecting pins and a flange portion through which the bolt passes and which is movable with respect to the bolt while the second connector is being fit-engaged with the first connector to electrically connect the connector pins of the first and second connectors. An elastic member elastically retains the flange portion and produces an elastic force that resists a push-back displacement which acts on the second connector at the moment of fit-engagement with the first connector in either a direction parallel to the bolt or in a direction inclined at an angle from the parallel direction.

  • Patent number: 7341423
Abstract: A flange of a molecular pump is connected to a vacuum vessel by first bolts that extend through elongate holes in the flange and are bolted to the vacuum vessel. One or more buffering members are attached to the flange by the first bolts that extend through first openings in the buffering members and by second bolts that extend through second openings in the buffering members and are bolted to the flange. In the event of malfunction of the molecular pump that generates an abnormally high torque, the buffering members plastically deform and absorb the shock energy caused by the abnormal torque thereby preventing damage to the vacuum vessel.
