  • Publication number: 20100232427
Abstract: A communications apparatus, enabling an efficient data transfer without an environmental restriction, notifies a transmission-side apparatus (200) connected via a network (300) of data amount in a window size, and receives data as large as the window size, the data which is transmitted from the transmission-side apparatus (200). The communications apparatus includes: a receiving buffer memory (120) having a region for storing a data packet transmitted from the transmission-side apparatus (200); a communications protocol processing unit (130) notifying the transmission-side apparatus (200) of the window size larger than a capacity of the receiving buffer memory (120), receiving the data packet transmitted from the transmission-side apparatus (200) according to the notified window size, and storing the received data packet in the receiving buffer memory (120); and a central controlling unit (140) retrieving the data packet stored in the receiving buffer memory (120) and processing the retrieved data packet.

  • Publication number: 20100220593
Abstract: Each of PLC modems 11 through 14 that perform communication using a PLC network 1 manages a priority management table that contains, for each of a plurality of data exchanged using a common transmission line, (i) a main priority (original), (ii) a main priority (changed), and (iii) a sub-priority. For example, when the PLC modem 11 detects congestion, the PLC modem 11 searches its priority management table for a stream that has the same main priority (original) as and a lower sub-priority than data transmitted by the PLC modem 11. The PLC modem 11 then transmits, to the PLC modem that transmits the stream found as a result of the above search, a notification signal notifying that the data transmitted by the PLC modem 11 has a high sub-priority.

  • Publication number: 20100195656
Abstract: There is provided a communication apparatus which, in an ad-hoc network, when receiving control packets from a plurality of terminals, can determine whether or not there is a collision among the control packets, and, based on the determination, can be prevented from continuing to be out of the network due to a collision among the control packets transmitted from the plurality of terminals. In the communication terminal, a communication section receives a control packet which periodically comes up on a communication path.

  • Publication number: 20100195569
Abstract: Provided is a communication terminal device that reduces, in a network using a power line, the percentage of bands consumed for transmission of control packets in the bands consumed for all the communication, so as to ensure transmission of data intended to be transmitted. A PLC terminal F701 connected to the network of power line communication transmits, when having determined that the terminal does not receive from the network a beacon for a predetermined period of time, a beacon request packet to the network, using a modulation method having the lowest communication speed among the modulation methods that can be used in the network.

  • Publication number: 20100182905
Abstract: A communication apparatus and a communication method capable of avoiding the transmission rate from being unnecessarily suppressed so as to improve the communication rate between devices, for example, in a home network. A communication apparatus (100) comprises a congestion control determining part (104) that determines, based on IP addresses of the communication apparatus (100) and a communication apparatus (500) on the other end of communication, which are information about the positions of those communication apparatuses on a network, whether a congestion control is necessary in the network when the communication apparatus (100) implements a transmission to the communication apparatus (500) on the other end of communication; and a transmission rate control part (101) that controls the data transmission rate in accordance with the necessity of the congestion control.
