  • Patent number: 7073289
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process for producing orchid seedlings by static liquid culture, in which a suitable amount of orchid seeds are suspended in a liquid medium suitable for the germination and growth of the orchid seeds to form a seed suspension; the seed suspension is then added into an empty culture container, so that the seed suspension within the culture container has a predetermined depth sufficient to enable each of the seeds to be suspended within the liquid medium while not causing said each seedling to an oxygen-deficient state; thereafter, the container is allowed to stand, such that the seeds suspended within the liquid medium germinate and grow into seedlings. The young seedlings thus obtained can be further cultivated by static liquid culture.

  • Publication number: 20060037179
Abstract: A safety buckle comprises a substantially flat elongated body having a first distal end opposite a first distal end, a top surface, and a bottom surface. The first and second distal ends are angled towards the bottom surface to form an approximately obtuse angle with the bottom surface. A substantially elongated cut-out is centrally disposed within the elongated body. The cut-out defines a pair of substantially parallel rails that axially extend between the first and send distal ends. A locking member is disposed within the cut-out. The locking member is slidably coupled to the rails, and slidable between a first position and a second position. When used with a safety strap, the locking member is moved from an “unlocked position” to a “locked” position when tension is applied to the strap. In the locked position, the locking member engages a bottom or clamping surface of the second distal end of the buckle body to apply pressure to the strap and secure it in place.

  • Publication number: 20030172555
Abstract: An internal split toe with creased sole for rock-climbing shoes includes an upper portion, internal wall and a creased sole under the toe area attached to the upper portion. An internal wall separates the area for the big toe and the other toes. The internal wall is attached to the sole and the upper portion. The internal wall ensures a creased sole under the toe area. An internal split toe with creased sole for the rock-climbing shoes allows rock-climbers to maximize the rock surface contact with the sole by hooking and wrapping around uneven and protruding rock surfaces preventing the problems of bulging and loss of sensitivity.
