  • Patent number: 7977883
Abstract: Disclosed is a material for forming a protective layer, a protective layer employing the material and a PDP with the protective layer. Unlike conventional protective layers which employ MgO created in conditions of pressurized artificial gas, the instant protective layer uses MgO created by heating Mg and allowing it to oxidize naturally in air. The result is MgO with fewer defects that is more effective as a protective layer in many uses, such as in a PDP. The instant MgO also shows many specific spectral characteristics and contains impurities in amounts of less than about 2 ppm each. Also disclosed is a PDP which takes advantage of the advantages of the inventive protective layer.

  • Publication number: 20110113604
Abstract: A carabiner has a C-shaped body. At one end of the body, a gate is pivotally mounted and is spring loaded to a closed position. A trigger is attached at the middle of the body with a hook in it, and is also spring loaded to a closed position against the side of the body. When prepared, the trigger will hold the gate open in ready position for easy access. When hit, the trigger will release the gate, springing the gate back to its closed positions. The trigger will also spring back to its closed position, out of the way of the rope moving inside of the carabiner body.

  • Publication number: 20100261727
Abstract: 2-arylbenzothiophene derivatives or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, a preparation method thereof, and a pharmaceutical composition for the diagnosis or treatment of degenerative brain disease containing the same as an active ingredient. Since the 2-arylbenzothiophene derivatives of Formula 1 have a relatively high binding affinity for ?-amyloid, they can be used as diagnostic reagents for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease at an early stage by non-invasive techniques when they are labeled with radioisotopes: wherein R1-R4, V, W, X, Y and Z are as defined in the Detailed Descript of the specification. Further, when the pharmaceutical composition containing the 2-arylbenzothiophene derivative binds with a low-molecular weight ?-amyloid peptide binding compound, generation of malignant high-molecular weight ?-amyloid deposits is minimized. Accordingly, the pharmaceutical composition can be used as a therapeutic agent of degenerative brain disease such as Alzheimer's disease.

  • Publication number: 20080254091
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-layered anti-adhesion barrier, particularly to a multi-layered anti-adhesion barrier comprising a nanofibrous structured base layer electrospun from a hydrophobic, biodegradable, biocompatible polymer and a polymer layer formed by coating a hydrophilic, biooriginated polymer on the base layer, and a method for the preparing the same. The multi-layered anti-adhesion barrier of the present invention can solve the problems of the conventional gel, solution, sponge, film or nonwoven type anti-adhesion systems, including adhesion to tissues or organs, flexibility, physical strength, ease of handling (ease of folding and bending), etc., offers improved user convenience. With a nanofibrous structure, the multi-layered anti-adhesion barrier of the present invention effectively blocks the infiltration or migration of blood and cells and promotes the healing of wounds. It is not torn or broken when folded or rolled and can be easily handled using small surgical instruments.
