  • Publication number: 20090092084
Abstract: Provided are a channel management method and a channel selection method for a wireless node in a wireless ad-hoc network. The channel management method includes the steps of: (a) when a current mode is a first mode, performing channel selection using a method for evenly distributing a channel within an interference range; and (b) when the current mode is a second mode, performing channel selection based on a channel switching probability. According to the method, by preventing a channel change from being continuously repeated in a wireless ad-hoc network using multi-channel multi-interface, it is possible to prevent data transmission delay and network performance deterioration.

  • Publication number: 20080123530
Abstract: A congestion-resilient link adaptation method is provided. The link adaptation method for selecting any one of modes having mapped transmission parameters includes the steps of: estimating a channel-induced error number indicating the number of channel-induced transmission failures in a current mode and comparing the estimated channel-induced error number with a mode-down threshold; and determining whether the mode-down is performed based on the comparison result. Thus, higher throughput can be achieved without use of additional hardware or protocols.

  • Publication number: 20070136601
Abstract: Provided are a system and method for allocating an Internet protocol version 4 (IPv4) address through authentication of a dual stack transition mechanism (DSTM) node in a DSTM communication network, DSTM being an IPv4/IPv6 address translation mechanism. The system and method perform authentication when an IPv4 address is allocated between a DSTM node and the DSTM server in the DSTM communication network. According to the system and method, when the DSTM node requests IPv4 address allocation, the DSTM server authenticates the DSTM node, and then allocates an IPv4 address. Therefore, it is possible to solve a problem of exhaustion of an IPv4 address pool of the DSTM server by a denial of service (DoS) attack, as well as potentially solve a security problem of an IPv4/IPv6 translation process.

  • Publication number: 20060253701
Abstract: A method for providing end-to-end security service in a communication network having an NAT-PT function comprises: performing security negotiation between a first node included in a first communication network having the network address translation-protocol translation function and a second node included in a second communication network operating with a protocol different from the first communication network; storing protocol translation information generated when the security negotiation is performed in the first node; and performing security transmission between the first and second nodes using the stored protocol translation information. The method transmits the address translation information to the ends in advance, thereby being capable of applying the security service using the address information on transmitting the data between hosts in the communication network using the address translation method.

  • Patent number: 6366077
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting a rate of rotation of a DC spindle motor without using an additional frequency generation (FG) signal generator in electronic equipment using the DC spindle motor. The apparatus detects the rate of rotation of a DC motor based on a current applied to the DC motor without using an additional FG signal generator in electronic equipment employing the DC motor and performs control corresponding to a detected result, thereby lowering costs and improving a manufacturing process in comparison with a conventional method employing a brushless motor to detect the rate of rotation of a motor.

  • Patent number: 5724329
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a rotational servo by using a frequency pulse signal generator is provided. The rotational servo controlling apparatus has a frequency pulse signal generator for generating a frequency pulse signal indicating the current rotational speed of the motor. A track count signal generator counts the number of tracks from the current track to an object track, and generates a corresponding track count signal. A microprocessor receives the frequency pulse and the track count signals and issues a command to generate a reference frequency pulse signal. A reference pulse signal generator receives the command and generates the reference frequency pulse signal. A phase comparator compares the frequency pulse signal and the reference frequency pulse signal and issues a comparison signal. The rotational servo controls the rotational speed of the spindle motor to rotate at a speed proper for the reading of data from the object track, i.e.

  • Patent number: 5457669
Abstract: A program search method for a digital signal processor which can search a program irrespective of the presence or absence of chapter numbers indicating portions of a recorded program includes the steps for setting predetermined search interval and reproduction period according to respective external inputs, jumping from a present location by the predetermined search interval set in the setting step, reproducing the program from a recording medium for the predetermined reproduction period set during the setting step after performing the jumping step, and then repeatedly performing the jumping and reproducing steps. In contrast with the conventional method, the program search method performs search and intro functions by the set intervals, which are defined in terms of time or frame units. Thus, the multi-intro scan function can be performed even if there is no chapter number differentiation for each respective program.
