  • Publication number: 20110145875
Abstract: Provided is a mobile set-top box. In the mobile set-top box, a demultiplexer processor separates first metadata from a transport stream corresponding to a broadcasting stream of which a destination is the mobile set-top box, and separates second metadata being transmitted via another channel, among a plurality of transport streams. A metadata processor unifies the first metadata and the second metadata and the image data transcoder processor transcodes image data included in the transport stream of the broadcasting stream into image data decodable by a user terminal. The metadata unified by the metadata processor and the transcoded image data are multiplexed by the multiplexer and then are transmitted to the user terminal. The mobile set-top box provides an Internet protocol television (IPTV) service to portable terminals of passengers boarding in a moving transportation means such as a bus, a train, and a ship.

  • Patent number: 7961697
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for estimating a timing error and a frequency offset in a high-speed portable Internet system and a method thereof. A predetermined preamble symbol is added to an OFDM frame to be transmitted by a transmitter according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, an IFFT operation is performed, and then a pseudo noise is multiplexed by the preamble symbol to estimate the timing error and the frequency offset. A receiver receives an OFDM symbol, extracts the preamble symbol from the OFDM symbol, and multiplexes the extracted preamble symbol by a local pseudo noise, which is equal to the pseudo noise used by the transmitter but is shifted.

  • Patent number: 7936832
Abstract: An ICI cancellation iterative receiver and an ICI cancellation method in the wireless communication system is provided. In order to eliminate the Inter-carrier-interference (ICI) due to phase noise, an adaptive ICI cancellation scheme based on the wireless communication system is presented. In order to correct the contaminated preamble symbols due to phase noise, a first LMS adaptive filter in the receiver cancels the ICI. In the following data symbols of a frame, joint of the turbo decoder and channel estimation is provided. The complexity of the joint algorithm is analyzed and the algorithm can be implemented in the wireless communication system. The simulation results show that the performance can be improved dramatically.

Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a biomolecule bonding using a radio frequency (RF) wireless energy transmission and a method thereof are disclosed. The method includes transmitting RF energy to a sensor module having one or more probe biomolecules immobilized thereon, and determining a first energy charging time of the sensor module, the first energy charging time representing the amount of time for the sensor to be completely charged by the transmitted RF energy, prior to mixing of the one or more probe biomolecules with one or more target sample biomolecules. A second energy charging time of the sensor module is determined, the second energy charging time representing the amount of time for the sensor to be completely charged by the transmitted RF energy, following mixing of the one or more probe biomolecules with one or more target biomolecule sample. A determination of whether biomolecule bonding has occurred is based on a variation of the first and second energy charging times.
