  • Publication number: 20060082624
Abstract: An ink cartridge usable with a wide array type printer head includes: an ink cartridge body extending in a lateral direction of a recording medium and having an ink storage space, at least one ink pipe formed at a bottom surface of the ink cartridge body and having at least two inlet ports in fluid communication with the ink storage space, an ink channel in fluid communication with a bottom surface of the at least one ink pipe, and at least one ink discharge port in fluid communication with the ink channel to supply the ink to a printer head. The ink cartridge is capable of increasing ink supply performance and use efficiency of ink absorbed in foam disposed in the ink cartridge body by increasing a local compression of the foam by forming a plurality of ink pipes having a cross-sectional area that is less than or equal to than a cross sectional area of a conventional ink pipe.

  • Publication number: 20060012651
Abstract: An inkjet cartridge includes a cartridge body provided with an ink storing space to store ink therein, a lid mounted on an upper portion of the cartridge body to seal the cartridge body, a head chip mounted on a lower portion of the cartridge body to eject the ink stored in the cartridge body, and an elastic member mounted on the cartridge body to absorb an impact transmitted to the head chip. Therefore, an impact applied from an exterior of the cartridge body is blocked and absorbed by the elastic member before the impact is applied to the head chip. As a result, a crack phenomenon of the head chip due to the external impact is fully prevented.

  • Publication number: 20060007275
Abstract: An ink cartridge and an inkjet printer using the same. The ink cartridge includes a cartridge case having an ink storing space, negative pressure forming foam inserted into the cartridge case, and a filter pipe installed on a bottom surface of the cartridge case, wherein the bottom surface of the cartridge case is formed to be entirely in contact with a bottom surface of the foam. Thus, a dead space around the filter pipe is minimized or eliminated, therefore solving a problem where the ink would otherwise remain to a certain extent in the dead space. In addition, the air existing in the dead space together with the ink does not affect the ink ejection performance of a head due to expansion and shrinkage of the air to stably maintain the ink ejection performance.

Abstract: An ink cartridge for an ink jet printer is provided. The provided ink cartridge has an ink reservoir and a housing for covering the ink reservoir with a negative pressure maintenance unit therebetween, to maintain the inner pressure of the ink reservoir under a negative pressure. Since the negative pressure maintenance unit does not contact ink in the ink reservoir, the negative pressure maintenance unit does not corrode. In addition, the negative pressure maintenance unit is installed between the housing and the ink reservoir while occupying a small space, and thus improving the filling efficiency of ink in the ink reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6739711
Abstract: An ink cartridge including an ink storage chamber in which ink is stored, a cover to cover the upper portion of the ink storage chamber and a head to eject ink droplets in the ink storage chamber onto a recording medium, wherein the cover includes an inner cover to cover the upper portion of the ink storage chamber and an outer cover that seals the ink storage chamber and the inner cover, and is positioned at a predetermined distance above the inner cover. Also provided are plates to form zigzag air passages by blocking a space between the inner cover and the outer cover. With the ink cartridge according to the present invention, it is possible to satisfactorily suppress the backward flow of ink contained in an ink storage chamber due to overheating of or careless treatment of the ink cartridge. Even if ink flows backward from the ink storage chamber, it is stored in an ink storage space, thus preventing the clogging of an air passage.
