Abstract: A method and system for analyzing and marking a film include determining color conditions which define colors compatible with a proposed mark, retrieving a number of consecutive frames to be marked, and determining potential marking areas within an image of each frame of the film. The color components associated with each potential marking area are analyzed to generate color values, and the color values of each of the potential marking areas are compared with the respective color conditions for determining ideal marking areas. Actual marking locations in the film are determined from the determined ideal marking areas.

Abstract: Personalized recordings may be provided. A first request to record an asset may be received. The first request may be associated with a first user and may include at least one first option. Next, a second request to record the asset may be received. The second request may be associated with a second user and may include at least one second option. Then the asset may be recorded consistent with the at least one first option and the least one second option. Next, a “my recordings list” associated with the first user may be displayed. In response to the displayed “my recordings” list associated with the first user, a request to play the asset may then be received. Next, in response to the received request to play the asset, the asset may be played consistent with the at least one first option.

Abstract: Multiple device recording may be provided. First, a recording device may be added to a network. Next, in response to adding the recording device to the network, recording device attribute data and recording device metadata may be received from the recording device. The received recording device metadata may then be translated. Then, using the translated metadata, asset data corresponding to assets on the recording device may be displayed. The asset data may be displayed in such a way to indicate which assets on the recording device are supported and which assets on the recording device are not supported.

Abstract: A system, method and device for sharing of playlists of authorized content with other users. A user interface is displayed on a media viewing device for creating a playlist of content. The playlist is generated by a user via the user interface and a name is associated with the playlist of content. The playlist is stored using the name. Parameters for sharing the playlist with contacts of the user are configured. At a viewing device of a contact, notification of a playlist created by a user is received. Privileges of the contact associated with content identified in the playlist are determined. Action is taken, by the contact, regarding content identified in the playlist created by the user based on the determined privileges of the contact.

Abstract: Assigning a single master identifier to all related content assets. Memory is provided for storing content assets and metadata associated with each of the content assets, wherein the metadata includes a plurality of metadata field entries. A processor is coupled to the memory. The processor is configured for analyzing the metadata associated with each of the content assets to produce correlations between metadata field entries associated therewith, identifying related content assets by determining content assets having a predetermined correlation between metadata field entries and assigning a single, unique asset identifier to the related content assets.

Abstract: A method and a system for providing location and profile based system and services. A system may includes a plurality of data sources disposed within a network for providing location and identity information associated with objects disposed within the network and a concentrator bridge, operatively coupled to the plurality of data sources, the concentrator bridge including a receiver associated with each of the plurality of data sources, wherein the concentrator bridge receives location and profile data associated with the objects from the plurality of data sources and provides the identity and location of the objects disposed within the network for viewing on a user interface.

Abstract: Allowing a user of a mobile computing device to link the mobile computing device and its associated network or system to a subject piece of hardware operating via a second network or system is provided. After the mobile computing device is linked to a given hardware device, functional operation of the hardware device and access to accounts associated with the hardware device may be provided to the linked mobile computing device.

Abstract: A content library may be provided. First, a video on demand content program may be received. Then, video on demand information corresponding to the video on demand content program may be added to a video on demand information list. The video on demand information corresponding to the video on demand content program may be maintained in the video on demand information list after a rental window for the video on demand content program is over.

Abstract: Content bookmarking may be provided. First, a content program may be displayed and a user initiated input may be received. Next, in response to the user initiated input, a currently displayed point in the content program may be jumped from to a time stamped point in the content program. The content program may then be displayed from the time stamped point.

Abstract: Playlist bookmarking may be provided. First, a content program from a playlist may be displayed on a first user device. The content program may then be paused and a time stamp may be placed in the playlist at a point where the content program was paused. Next, the time stamped playlist may be transmitted to a server. At a second user device, the time stamped playlist may be received from the server and the content program may be displayed from the playlist from the point in the content program corresponding to the time stamp.

Abstract: A method for managing access to scrambled broadcast or transmitted events received from a variety of service providers (including broadcast television networks, cable television networks, digital satellite systems). Each service provider employs the same public key for descrambling the access information message thereby permitting a user to access events from various service providers without changing the smart card. The method may also be expanded to manage access to a scrambled package of broadcast events.

Abstract: A system and method for analyzing and marking a film image for providing a marked film with robust marks which have a high survival rate during, e.g., unauthorized duplication. The present invention provides the ability to facilitate the choosing of ideal locations of marks for marking a film image by recommending potential marking locations based on the survivability of the mark against different background colors. The system and method provides for selecting at least two potential marking areas in at least one frame of the film, saturating the at least two potential marking areas in a predetermined color of a mark, calculating a root mean square error (RMSE) of each of the at least two potential marking areas and an area surrounding each potential marking area, and determining which of the at least two potential marking areas has the lowest RMSE, i.e., the recommend marking location.

Abstract: Storing asset ID and entitlement data of purchased and rented media from various sources in a media contents account and allowing access to the stored asset ID and entitlement data from various devices is provided. A user may access a media contents account via a network-connected device to view his/her purchased and rented media. The network-connected device may be a device that has been registered with the account. A user may select a title of purchased or rented media to stream or download. Upon verification of entitlement rights, the media may be streamed or downloaded to the user.

Abstract: Scheduling may be provided. First, a first request to record a first program content may be received. The first request may be received from a first device and initiated by a first user. Next, in response to the received first request, a first entry may be added to a scheduling list. The first entry may correspond to the first request. Then, the first program content may be recorded according to the first entry in the scheduling list. In response to recording the first program content, a first indication may then be added to a recording list. The first indication may indicate that the first program content has been recorded.

One example of 3D content is a two-dimensional image and an associated depth map. In this case, the depth value of the inserted text is adjusted to match the largest depth value of the given depth map. Another example of 3D content is a plurality of two-dimensional images and associated depth maps. In this case, the depth value of the inserted text is continuously adjusted to match the largest depth value of a given depth map. A further example of 3D content is stereoscopic content having a right eye image and a left eye image. In this case the text in one of the left eye image and right eye image is shifted to match the largest depth value in the stereoscopic image. Yet another example of 3D content is stereoscopic content having a plurality of right eye images and left eye images.

Abstract: A multi-room media network includes a network for providing device interconnectivity for receiving and sending data and a plurality of content control devices coupled to the network. Device management for multiple room-digital video recording is provided by a trusted device list. The trusted device list allows the configuration of a plurality of media devices in a media network to be managed and controlled.
