    Abstract: Embodiments of the present application include communication methods and communication apparatuses. A method includes: transmitting a retransmission including one or more cross-CB coded blocks, where the cross-CB coded blocks includes a first cross-CB coded block, and the first cross-CB coded block is generated by encoding, according to an LDPC code, a part of information bits of the CBs, where a code rate of the retransmission is lower than a code rate of the initial transmission. Thus, a receiving apparatus can decode a cross-CB coded block in a current retransmission. If the cross-CB coded blocks are decoded successfully, the part of the information bits can be considered as frozen bits, which allows the rest of information bits in the previous (re)transmission to be decoded with a lower CR.

    Abstract: A method for training a prediction model to generate a high-resolution image representing defects on a substrate from a low-resolution image of the substrate. The method includes inputting a first image and a reference image of defects on a substrate, which are representative of images captured using different image capture conditions, to a neural network. The neural network is executed to generate a predicted image in response to the first image. A loss function that is indicative of a difference between a defect distribution in the predicted image and a defect distribution in the reference image is calculated and the neural network is modified based on the loss function. The neural network may be trained until the loss function is minimized.

The model generates, using a first image of the pair of stereo images as input, disparity data between the first image and a second image, the disparity data being indicative of depth information associated with the first image. The disparity data is combined with the second image to generate a reconstructed image corresponding to the first image. Further, one or more model parameters are adjusted based on the disparity data, the reconstructed image, and the first image.
