  • Publication number: 20150172714
Abstract: A method and apparatus for three-dimensional video encoding or decoding using sub-block based inter-view prediction are disclosed. The method partitions a texture block into texture sub-blocks and determines disparity vectors of the texture sub-blocks. The inter-view reference data is derived based on the disparity vectors of the texture sub-blocks and a reference texture frame in a different view. The inter-view reference data is then used as prediction of the current block for encoding or decoding. One aspect of the present invention addresses partitioning the current texture block. Another aspect of the present invention addresses derivation of disparity vectors for the current texture sub-blocks.

  • Publication number: 20120114034
Abstract: In the current high efficiency video coding development, each LCU has its own quantization parameter (QP) and the difference between a current QP and a reference QP is transmitted instead of the QP value itself. Since the LCU is much larger than the macroblock of AVC/H.264, using one delta QP per LCU may cause rate control unable to adapt to the bitrate quickly enough. Consequently there is a need to adopt delta QP in units smaller than LCU to provide more granular rate control. Furthermore, it is desirable to develop a system that is capable of facilitating more flexible delta QP. Accordingly, adaptive quantization parameter processing is disclosed where a QP minimum CU size for incorporating or deriving a delta QP is indicated selectively in the slice level or in the sequence/picture level. In one variation, the delta QP is incorporated or derived only if nonzero quantized transform coefficients exist in a leaf CU that is larger than the QP minimum CU size.

  • Publication number: 20100278338
Abstract: A reconfigurable and scalable cryptography (encryption/decryption) system architecture and related method are described. The system utilizes a multiple-pass approach, each pass applying one cryptography algorithm with its own cryptography keys. The encrypted data can only be fully and correctly decrypted with the correct algorithms in the correct sequence (as determined by one or more security level parameters) and the correct cryptography keys. The system includes a multiple cryptography algorithm set section which is reconfigurable to perform multiple cryptography algorithms sequentially, and a cryptography controller which receives an input key set and a security level parameter. The cryptography controller reconfigures the multiple cryptography algorithm set section based on the security level parameter to perform multiple selected cryptography algorithms in a selected sequence.
