  • Publication number: 20040157492
Abstract: A high speed cable connector (1) includes a cover (10), a base (80) and a cable assembly (30) mounted between the cover and the base. The cable assembly includes a cable (42) consisting of a plurality of lines (44). Each line has a signal pair (47, 48) and a ground conductor (492). The signal pair includes a pair of upper and lower signal conductors (472, 482). The ground conductors are soldered to shielding plates (50). The shielding plates are soldered to top and bottom faces of a rear end of a printed circuit board (PCB) (62). The upper and lower signal conductors of each signal pair are soldered to the top and bottom faces of the rear end of the PCB, respectively, and located between two neighboring shielding plates, whereby cross-talk and interference between two neighboring signal pairs can be effectively suppressed and reduced. • Publication number: 20030124904
Abstract: A cable assembly (1) includes a connector (2) and a cable (3) terminated with the connector. The connector includes a housing (20) having a main body (201) and a projecting portion (202) protruding from the main body, with a number of terminals (21) that are inserted into the housing. The projecting portion and the main body together define a cable exit channel (204) on an outer side of the housing. When a number of connectors of cable assembly are mated with counterpart connector side by side on a panel, a special cable exit directs the cable routed along the panel. T his allows a) dense placement of the cable assemblies on and along a panel in a limited space, b) insertion or removal of a panel without interference by the cable assemblies on its adjacent panel and c) mating or un-mating a similar cable assembly or a number of similar cable assemblies from a panel without interference by the cable assemblies on its adjacent panel.

  • Publication number: 20030122734
Abstract: This method of driving a passive OLED monitor makes use of the circuit operating scan line and data line to drive the circuit, disconnects the scan line and the data line from the scan line driven chip and the data line driven chip respectively, lets the scan line driven chip send a scan signal to the scan line, disconnects the scan line and the scan line driven chip when the connection of the scan signal between the scan line and scan line driven chip is interrupted, provides another scan signal to another scan line to connect another scan line and scan line driven chip after the scan line driven chip is delayed.

  • Patent number: 6585528
Abstract: A wire spacer (10) is used to reduce the cost of terminating wires (3) of a cable (2) to a cable termination connector assembly (1). The connector assembly includes the wire spacer, a dielectric housing (20), a conductive shroud (30), a printed circuit board (40) and a number of contacts (50). The contacts mount in the housing and are soldered to one end of the PCB. The wires are inserted through holes (17) of the wire spacer (10). Proper positioning of the wires is then more easily verified and stripping the wires and attaching the pair of conductors in each wire to a rear end of the PCB can then be automated. This results in lower production cost. An added advantage is the wire spacer functions as a strain relief for wires of the cable.

  • Patent number: 6582252
Abstract: An electrical cable termination connector (10) includes a front shell (20), a printed circuit board (PCB) (30), a terminal insert (40), a back shell (50), a spacer (60), latches (72), and a boot (70). The PCB has a first edge (34) and a second edge (36) positioned at right angles to each other. First solder pads (33) along the first edge are electrically connected to corresponding second solder pads (35) along the second edge by traces (37) in the PCB. The PCB attaches to a rear of the front shell and terminals in the terminal insert electrically connect to the first solder pads. Stiff, shielded wires (80) of a cable (90) are fixed in the spacer, and conductors (81) of the wires are attached to the second solder pads. This design enables a 90 degree connection between a cable and a mating connector, without sharp bending of the shielded cable.

  • Patent number: 6489563
Abstract: An electrical cable (1) adapted for terminating with an electrical connector (2) includes a pair of cable subassemblies (10). Each cable subassembly has two signal wires (101) and a metal braid (102) wraps round the two signal wires. Each signal wire includes a signal conductor (103) and an insulating layer (104) outside. An outer jacket (12) surrounds the two cable subassemblies. A grounding sleeve (11) includes two recess portions (110) for receiving exposed front portions of the respective cable subassemblies press-fitted therein. Three grounding pins (113) project from the grounding sleeve at intervals for being soldered to corresponding grounding terminals (21, 22, 23) of the electrical connector.
