  • Publication number: 20050286378
Abstract: A data writing method is used with an optical recording apparatus to write data into a rewritable disc. For writing data, the optical recording apparatus enters a writing mode and a first packet is written into the rewritable disc. Then, the optical recording apparatus enters a detecting mode and data of the first packet written into the rewritable disc are read for defect detection. If no defect of the first packet is detected in the detecting mode, the writing mode is entered again, so a second packet can be written into the rewritable disc. On the other hand, if a defect of the first packet is detected in the detecting mode, a rewriting mode will be entered and the first packet is rewritten into the rewritable disc again.

  • Publication number: 20050237885
Abstract: A method for controlling laser power of an optical recording/reproducing apparatus includes the following steps. Firstly, a writing procedure is performed with an initial electric power level supplied to a laser module of the optical recording/reproducing apparatus. Then, an optimum power calibration (OPC) procedure is performed to determine a first optimum electric power level if a temperature change of the optical recording/reproducing apparatus under the initial electric power level is larger than a threshold value. Afterward, by replacing the initial electric power level with the first optimum electric power level to be supplied to the laser module of the optical recording/reproducing apparatus, the writing procedure is performed.

  • Patent number: 6925522
Abstract: A device and method capable of changing codes of a micro-controller comprises a micro-controller, an address latch, a flash memory, a static random access memory (SRAM), and a logic circuit. The flash memory has a renovation program and a general program recorded therein. The logic circuit can be a logic gate circuit, a programmable logic array, or a field programmable gate array. During a period of changing code, the renovation program of the flash memory controls the micro-controller to copy the renovation program itself into the SRAM and then makes the renovation program recorded in the SRAM control the micro-controller to replace the general program of the flash memory with a new program. Thereby, codes can be renewed without the need of replacing the original flash memory.

  • Publication number: 20050031294
Abstract: A method for arranging conducting lines of a flexible cable in an optical disk drive first confirms the pins having similar functions of all chips on a main board and a sub-board, and uses only one conducting line of the flexible cable to connect these pins. • Publication number: 20040229168
Abstract: A new method is provided to create a polysilicon fuse. The invention provides for applying a first oxide plasma treatment to the surface of the created polysilicon fuse, creating a thin layer of native oxide over the surface of the created polysilicon fuse, followed by a DI water rinse. This thin layer of native oxide is made more robust by applying a second oxide plasma treatment to exposed surfaces, this more robust layer of native oxide protects the polysilicon fuse during subsequent processing steps of wet photoresist and polymer removal.

  • Publication number: 20030079079
Abstract: A method to control the operating speed of computer storage device by determining the transmitting mode of a computer interface. A first speed transmitting mode is used to output a controlling signal to the exterior interface when the transforming interface receives a reset signal provided by the exterior interface. If the transforming interface receives a reply signal provided by the exterior interface, the first speed transmitting mode is switched to a second speed transmitting mode having a slower transmitting speed than the first speed transmitting mode. An ATAPI command is sent to the interface controller by the transforming interface through an interior BUS to dictate allowed transmitting speed to limit the writing speed of the computer storage media.
