  • Publication number: 20090137286
Abstract: A controlling method and a controlling system for a handheld communication device are provided. In the present method, a tilting state of the handheld communication device is detected by using a G-sensor when a notice is activated. Then, whether the tilting state is changed from a face up state to a face down state is determined. The handheld communication device is controlled to perform a function when the tilting state is confirmed to be changed from the face up state to the face down state. Accordingly, the handheld communication device may be controlled to perform a function timely according to the positioned state of the device without going through complicated procedures, so as to provide a more intuitive and convenient way to control the handheld communication device.

  • Publication number: 20090110437
Abstract: A duplex document feeder defines a feeding path. A charging means, a guiding plate equipped with elastic force and a feeding means are located along the feeding path. A driver means provides drive source to the charging means and the inverting means. The guiding plate blocks up the feeding path while the feeding path is empty. The charging means charges a document into the feeding path. The guiding plate is pressed out of the feeding path by the document conveyed via the charging means. Therefore, the document may be conveyed through the feeding path. While the document is conveyed to the feeding means, the guiding plate returns to block up the feeding path via elastic force thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090091076
Abstract: An auto document feeder cooperated with an image processing machine defines a feeding path and has a base, a frame and a sensor device. The base has a background under the feeding path. The frame is mounted on the base. The sensor couples with the frame and has a sensor arm. The sensor arm has an optical sensor located in the feeding path and faced to the background of the base. The sensor device recognizes a sheet is present in the feeding path or not by that the optical sensor recognizes the energy of the light reflected from the background and the sheet. The sensor device also recognizes characteristic of the sheet by that the optical sensor recognizes the energy of the light reflected from the sheet. Therefore, the image processing machine executes different processes for the sheet according to the characteristic of the sheet.

  • Publication number: 20090086022
Abstract: The present invention describes a system and method for surveillance cameras that maintain proper mapping of a mapped region of interest with an imaged region of interest based on feedback received regarding the current orientation of a surveillance camera. The system or method first determines the location of the imaged region of interest within the surveillance camera's imaged current field of view based on mechanical or imaged feedback, or a combination of both. The system or method then remaps the mapped region of interest within the surveillance camera's imaged current field of view such that the mapped region of interest is coextensive with the imaged region of interest.

  • Publication number: 20080271956
Abstract: An elevator system (20) includes elevator car doors (30) that are moved by a door mover (34) between fully open and fully closed positions. An encoder (38, 38?) provides an absolute indication of a current door position. The encoder (38, 38?) also provides a fully closed door position indication that can be used by a machine controller (40) for controlling when an elevator car (22) is allowed to move within a hoistway. Using an encoder that provides an absolute door position indication allows for eliminating a separate gate switch that otherwise has been used for providing a fully closed door position indication.

  • Publication number: 20080274684
Abstract: A strategy for minimizing or avoiding the so-called stack effect within buildings (20) includes controlling the temperature within a vertically extending shaft (40) such as an elevator hoistway or stairwell. Controlling the air pressure at each of a plurality of levels (A, B, C, D) within the useable or occupied space of a building (20) allows for controlling a pressure differential between the useable or occupied space and an interior of the shaft (40). Maintaining appropriate pressure differential levels allows for minimizing or avoiding the stack effect that otherwise results in undesirably large drafts between the building interior and the outside, surrounding environment.
