During encoding, a prediction residual block is generated responsive to prediction-level partitioning performed against a video block, a transform block partition type to use is determined based on the prediction residual block, a non-recursive transform-level partitioning is performed against the prediction residual block according to the transform block partition type, and transform blocks generated as a result of the transform-level partitioning are encoded to a bitstream.

    Abstract: Guided restoration is used to restore video data degraded from a video frame. The video frame is divided into restoration units (RUs) which each correspond to one or more blocks of the video frame. Restoration schemes are selected for each RU. The restoration schemes may indicate to use one of a plurality of neural networks trained for the guided restoration. Alternatively, the restoration schemes may indicate to use a neural network and a filter-based restoration tool. The video frame is then restored by processing each RU according to the respective selected restoration scheme. During encoding, the restored video frame is encoded to an output bitstream, and the use of the selected restoration schemes may be signaled within the output bitstream. During decoding, the restored video frame is output to an output video stream.

    Abstract: A computer system modifies a compiled application to monitor performance. A request routing function of the compiled application is replaced with jump code that directs processing to a data collection function and backing up the request routing function. In response to receiving, during execution of the compiled application, an incoming request from a remote device for handling by the request routing function, the data collection function is executed based on the jump code. Using the data collection function, data associated with the incoming request is collected, the data comprising performance metrics. The backup of the request routing function is called using the data collection function to process the request and provide a response. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for modifying a compiled application to monitor performance in substantially the same manner described above.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for producing an olefin-containing feed stream for a steam reforming plant. According to certain embodiments of the invention, the olefin-containing hydrocarbon starting material is for this purpose vaporized and catalytically hydrogenated. The hydrogenation product stream obtained is separated into a gaseous reforming feed stream, which is fed to a steam reforming plant, and a gaseous recycle stream. As a result of the cooling according to the invention of the gaseous recycle stream down to at least partial condensation thereof and the separate recirculation of the gaseous partial recycle stream and of the liquid partial recycle stream, the procurement of a large and complicated circulation compressor is avoided and electric energy for operating this compressor is saved.
