  • Publication number: 20230014659
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and articles of manufacture for reducing coupling loss between optical fibers, more particularly, to reducing coupling loss between a hollow-core optical fiber (HCF) and another fiber, such as solid core fibers (SCF), through the use of mismatched mode field diameter (MFD) and optical connector assemblies for low latency patchcords. According to one embodiment, an article is configured to reduce a coupling loss between multiple optical fibers, wherein the article includes an HCF supporting the propagation of a first mode and an SCF coupled to the HCF. According to a further embodiment, a method is described for reducing the coupling loss or splicing loss between optical fibers, such as an exemplary HCF and a solid core SMF.

  • Publication number: 20220315412
Abstract: A package structure includes a first substrate and a first device disposed on the first substrate. The first device includes at least one anchor structure, a film structure anchored by the anchor structure and an actuator configured to control the film structure to form a first vent temporarily. The film structure partitions a space into a first volume to be connected to an ear canal and a second volume connected to an ambient of a wearable sound device. The ear canal and the ambient are connected via the first vent when the first vent is opened. The first vent is opened by controlling a first membrane portion and a second membrane portion of the film structure, such that a difference between a first displacement of the first membrane portion and a second displacement of the second membrane portion is larger than a thickness of the film structure.

  • Patent number: 11303295
Abstract: A signal density modulation (SDM) encoder includes a first subtractor, a sigma circuit and a multi-bit quantizer. The first subtractor is used for receiving an input signal. The sigma circuit is coupled to the first subtractor. The multi-bit quantizer, coupled to the first subtractor and the sigma circuit, is configured to generate an output signal. The sigma circuit or the multi-bit quantizer produces a first feedback signal to the first subtractor. The first subtractor performs a subtraction operation according to the first feedback signal and the input signal, and generates a delta signal. The sigma circuit performs an operation on the delta signal, such that the SDM encoder has a noise transfer function having a high pass filtering effect. The noise transfer function is a ratio of a quantization error brought by the multi-bit quantizer with respect to the input signal. The output signal has more than two levels.
