  • Publication number: 20190120766
Abstract: Photonic Resonator Outcoupler Microscopy (PROM) is a novel, label-free approach for dynamic, long-term, quantitative imaging of a sample on a surface of a photonic crystal (PC) biosensor, in which components of the sample outcouple photons from the resonant evanescent field, resulting in highly localized reductions of the reflected light intensity. By mapping changes in the resonant reflected peak intensity from the PC surface, components of a sample (e.g., focal adhesions) can be detected and dynamically tracked. To demonstrate the simplicity and utility of PROM for focal adhesion imaging, PROM images are compared with biosensor images of surface-bound dielectric permittivity and with fluorescence microscopy images of labeled adhesion molecules in dental stem cells. PROM can dynamically quantify the surface-attached cellular mass density and lateral dimensions of focal adhesion clusters.

  • Publication number: 20190102466
Abstract: An online system receives posts that include links to various external pages and presents those posts to users of the online system. When the online system determines an opportunity to present a post to a particular viewing user of the online system, the online system determines a quality metric and an associated value score for the post. The quality metric is determined as a likelihood that the viewing user will view the external page for less than a threshold time period, and is used to adjust the associated value score. The online system compares the value score of the post to the value scores of other posts and selects one or more of the compared posts for presentation to the viewing user of the online system.

  • Publication number: 20180205319
Abstract: Isolated DC-DC converters are described. A DC-DC converter is a device which converts a direct current (DC) signal from one voltage to another. An isolated DC-DC converter performs the conversion across an electrical isolation barrier separating two voltage domains. The signal converted from one voltage to another, and transferred from one voltage domain to another, may be a power signal. Described are isolated DC-DC converters which transfer a power signal from one voltage domain to another via an isolator, and a power feedback signal back across the isolator. The isolator is a transformer in some situations.

  • Publication number: 20180175735
Abstract: Isolated DC-DC converters and methods for operating the same are described herein. DC-DC converters include a driver that drives a primary winding of a transformer to transmit power to a secondary winding of the transformer across an isolation barrier. In some embodiments, a pair of symmetrical serial capacitors are provided between the driver and the primary winding of a resonant DC-DC converter with an on-chip transformer to slow down variations of a common mode voltage on the primary winding during operation. This in turn can suppress radiation emissions related to time variation rates of the common mode voltage and, and can also improve electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance of the DC-DC converter.

  • Publication number: 20180090267
Abstract: A current transformer and a direct current source based on a current transformer are disclosed. In an embodiment, the current transformer includes two output ends; a first winding and a second winding connected in series between the two output ends; a main core; a bypass core, arranged to be magnetically coupled with the main core. The first winding is wound on a part of the main core and a part of the bypass core, and the second winding is wound on apart of the bypass core. In an embodiment, the current transformer also includes a high-frequency bypass, connected in parallel with the first winding, and used to filter a high-frequency signal. The high-frequency bypass provides a low-impedance path for a high-frequency signal in a primary conductor under measurement, such that the bypass core with the second winding presents less obstruction to the main core, thereby reducing heating.

  • Patent number: 9916193
Abstract: A zone selective interlocking device includes a first port, a second port, an input bus, an output bus and a query signal receiving branch. The first and second port each are switchable between two states, connected to the input bus and connected to the output bus, and the zone selective interlocking device is operable in a first mode. In the first mode, the query signal receiving branch is turned on. Within a preset timeslot, a link fault query signal is permitted to be inputted to the query signal receiving branch through the first port, while a link fault query signal is prevented from being inputted to the query signal receiving branch through the second port. Based on whether a link fault query signal is received within the timeslot, a judgment is made on whether a fault has occurred in a communication link connected to a corresponding port.

  • Patent number: 9897640
Abstract: A fault arc detection method includes: sampling an instantaneous current value of a circuit; using the instantaneous current value to predict a current peak value and, when the predicted current peak value is greater than a predetermined threshold, determining that a first energy fault arc is to appear; and comparing a time domain or frequency domain feature of the instantaneous current value with a reference time domain feature or a reference frequency domain feature of the current of a fault arc of the circuit. When the similarity between the time domain or frequency domain feature and the reference time or reference frequency domain feature of the current of the fault arc reaches a predetermined range, a second energy fault arc is determined to appear. The method and detection device detect the occurrence of a fault arc early and they are able to distinguish different types of fault arcs.

  • Publication number: 20170171139
Abstract: An online system, such as a social networking system, monitors user interactions with news feed stories of the social networking system and divides the user interactions into non-content clicks and content clicks. The non-content clicks indicate a user's interest in news feed stories based on user actions such as comments on, likes, shares, and hides the news feed stories. The content clicks indicate a user's interest in news feed stories based on user actions on different specific portions of multimedia content (e.g., videos) in the news feed stories such as playing, fast forwarding. The social networking system trains a model based on the monitored user interactions with news feed stories and uses the trained model to rank news feed stories for presentation to a user.
