  • Publication number: 20040109717
Abstract: A printing apparatus having a plurality of print modes and a plurality of paper feeding means is constructed by means for-designating the print mode, means for selecting the paper feeding means, and means for discriminating whether a print medium corresponding to the designated print mode coincides with a print medium corresponding to the selected paper feeding means or not.

  • Publication number: 20040021891
Abstract: When an engine detects changes in condition such as a power-OFF operation, an out-of-paper state, or the like, it sends a condition change signal indicating that the condition has changed to an engine control unit. The engine control unit inquires of the engine as to the contents of the changes in condition using a command signal so as to examine the cause of the changes in condition. When a power supply is scheduled to be turned off, a message indicating it is supplied to a host computer that uses the printer, or job conditions are saved, and the host apparatus is informed of the saved job conditions after the power supply is turned on again. In the case of the out-of-paper state as well, a message indicating it is supplied to the host computer that uses the printer. The items to be informed can be selected from the host computer.

  • Publication number: 20030156117
Abstract: The present invention has as an object to propose a texture mapping method which enables smooth shading, and is also appropriate for conserving memory resources. In order to achieve this object, in this invention, data regions with different color tones are set so as to form density gradients in the U coordinate direction and in the V coordinate direction of the texture data. If the brightness of the surface of the object to which texture mapping is performed is I, then among the coordinates to be read to access texture data, the U coordinate is calculated as U=a*I+b, and the V coordinate is determined from V=d. The value of the dynamic variable d can be set appropriately according to the application. Because the texture data is such that color tone density gradients are formed in two mutually orthogonal directions, smooth shading is possible, and a plurality of texture memory areas can be consolidated to conserve memory usage.

  • Publication number: 20010029551
Abstract: A server obtains an adaptivity of a selectable device for a device retrieval condition from a client and sends it to the client. The client presents the adaptivity to the user, thereby enabling the user to freely select a desired device among a plurality of devices which conform with the retrieval condition.

  • Patent number: 6259468
Abstract: In the case where since there is no recording paper in an upper stage cassette in which recording papers of an optimum size (for example, A4 size) should be enclosed, a lower stage cassette in which recording papers of another size are enclosed is used as a temporary paper feeding unit and a paper feed is performed, whether there is a status change such as supply of recording papers, removal of output papers from a paper ejecting unit, or the like or not is discriminated on the basis of a status change signal, whether the recording papers of the A4 size have been supplied to the upper stage cassette or not is discriminated, and whether an automatic paper feeding mode has been set or not is discriminated. Thus, when the recording papers of the A4 size are supplied to the upper stage cassette and the automatic paper feeding mode has been set, the paper feeding unit is switched from the lower stage cassette to the upper stage cassette.

  • Patent number: 6144457
Abstract: Print control apparatus has a holding unit that hold plural pieces of received print information. If an error during a printing process for one of the plural pieces of print information is detected, it is determined whether the detected error is of a first type or a second type. The printing process of the plural pieces of print information is controlled such that the printing process of any of the plural pieces of print information is interrupted if the detected error is of the first type. If the detected error is of the second type, the printing process is interrupted for the one piece of print information but is continued for another of the plural pieces of print information.

  • Patent number: 5963755
Abstract: A printing apparatus is provided with a main body including a video controller, having video signal generation device for generating a video signal from image information based on a recording command from an external apparatus and control device, and with a supervisory controller including optional unit control device for controlling at least an optional unit connectable to the main body. The video controller includes a process time informing device for informing the supervisory controller of an image development process time, and the supervisory controller includes a paper transport time memory for storing the paper transport time from the optional paper feed source to the entrance of the printing apparatus, a comparator for comparing the process time informed by the process time informing device with the paper transport time stored in the paper transport time memory, and a paper feed source changing device for changing the paper feed source in case the comparator identifies that the process time is shorter.

  • Patent number: 5942012
Abstract: One lot is a group of wafers-to-be-processed in one wafer carrier, and one lot region for one lot is allocated fixed to a holding region of a wafer boat. A variable lot region mode in which lot regions for 4, for example, lots are allocated to the wafer boat. When a lot number is less than 4, or numbers of sheets of wafers-to-be-processed in the respective lots are less than a prescribed number, the lot regions can be compressed, centered on a number of a set holding groove is prepared. On the other hand, in connection with transfer of monitor wafers, a mode in which monitor wafers are transferred to inter-lot regions, and a mode in which numbers of holding grooves can be designated are prepared. The former mode is selected in product monitor, and the latter mode is selected in apparatus monitor.

  • Patent number: 5727134
Abstract: An output apparatus processes data input selectively from a plurality of host computers and outputs a data processing state. The output apparatus includes an input structure that inputs data selectively from the plurality of host computers, a discriminating device that discriminates from which one of the plurality of host computers the input data is supplied, and an informing device for informing an operator of the output apparatus of the data processing state of the output apparatus in response to a discrimination by the discriminating device. An output method performs the operations of the output apparatus, and can be performed by using a memory medium that stores a program used in a programmable output apparatus. The output apparatus may use a host interface, or a plurality of host interfaces, for the input structure.

  • Patent number: 5446832
Abstract: A printing method and apparatus for receiving print data from an external apparatus, for developing the received data into image data, and for outputting and printing onto a recording medium are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a printer to print the print data onto a recording medium; an instructing circuit to instruct inhibition of the printing; and a controller to control so as to inhibit the printing process by the printer when printing inhibition has been instructed by the instructing circuit. With the apparatus, an unnecessary printing operation and wasteful consumption of recording papers and various articles of consumption at the time of a test of the printing, a repair, or the like can be prevented.
