  • Patent number: 4895393
Abstract: In a clock-studying picture book, a picture book body illustrating respective picture patterns relating to various times of day is provided with a sound generator which, when a long hand or short hand, or both the long and short hands are controlled to point to a specific time, generates a sound making the specific time recognizable, so that the infant can study the clock and time while enjoying himself during play.

  • Patent number: 4790660
Abstract: A flat light beam is projected from a light projecting unit to an object to be measured, sweeping its surface with a bright line. The image of the bright line is focused on pluralities of photosensor arrays and line photosensors. A plurality of positions in the bright line are computed by triangular surveying, based on the direction of projection of the flat signal light beam and the positions of those photosensors in each array from which the signal light component is obtained. The position of a gap in the surface of the object is computed, using the detected positions of the photosensors and a signal which indicates a dropout of the signal light component from the output of a line photosensor.

  • Patent number: 4752230
Abstract: A picture book including a switch unit mounted on part of the book. The switch unit is arranged in the style of an immitated telephone dial and is provided with a plurality of switching means. The picture book also provides a sound generator having a unit for generating false musical instrumental sound corresponding to activated switching means. The picture book is further provided with at least one of two kinds of leaves, the one containing a picture to allow the switch unit to be part of a telephone and the other one containing a picture which makes up part of musical instrument.

  • Patent number: 4746092
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for supporting an electric blower of a vacuum cleaner, comprising a front supporting member positioned between the front surface of the electric blower and a housing of the vacuum cleaner and a rear supporting member positioned between the electric blower and the housing thereof. The rear supporting member is fixed to the electric blower and the housing to prevent the electric blower from being moved in its thrust direction. The rear supporting member is fixed thereto such that one end portion thereof is fixedly secured to the rear portion of the electric blower and a groove portion formed on the periphery of the rear supporting member is engaged with a fixing member protrudingly provided on the housing. The front supporting member is formed so that at least the cross section of a portion thereof positioned between the front surface of the electric blower and the housing of the vacuum cleaner has a wedge-like configuration.

  • Patent number: 4716620
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner includes a cleaner housing accommodating a motor-driven air blower and having a dust collection chamber defined in a front end thereof. An upper cover is detachably hinged at an end to the cleaner housing for closing an upper portion of the dust collection chamber and has a slanted surface inclined downwardly toward the front end. The upper cover has an inlet hole defined in the slanted surface for communication with the dust collection chamber when the upper portion of the dust collection chamber is closed by the upper cover. A connector pipe connected at one end to an intake hose has an opposite end rotatably coupled to the inlet hole. The connector pipe is bent at such an angle as to be directed substantially vertically when the hose is directed upwardly.

  • Patent number: 4567347
Abstract: A measurement head in an arc welding machine modulates the light intensity of a laser light beam with a modulating signal of 50 KHz or higher, and radiates the laser light beam onto an object to be measured while changing the direction of laser beam emission in one plane. A light receiving unit in the measurement head changes its direction of detecting a reflected beam in the same plane. Angles at which the light beams are emitted and detected are detected at the time a modulated signal component is detected from an output from the light receiving unit. The position of a bright spot produced on the surface by the radiated laser light beam is computed from the detected angles based on the principle of triangulation.
