Patent number: 6861919Abstract: An irreversible circuit device with small insertion loss and excellent isolation is to be provided. An irreversible circuit device according to the invention has a flat plate shaped ferrite member and first, second and third central conductors placed on the ferrite member. In the central conductors, second conductor parts are placed on the ferrite member as input or output first conductor parts are placed on notch parts of the ferrite member. Therefore, when a magnetic flux passes through V-shaped extension parts as a magnetic path, the current generation is reduced and the energy transmission is increased in the first conductor part placed therebetween. Consequently, the insertion loss is reduced, and the isolation becomes excellent.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2003Date of Patent: March 1, 2005Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yuichi Shimizu

Patent number: 6828871Abstract: A planar magnetic core is disposed in a DC magnetic field, and the top surface thereof is perpendicular to the direction of the DC magnetic field. Three central conductors are placed on the top surface of the magnetic core so that they overlap with each other at regular intervals substantially at the center of the top surface of the magnetic core. One end of each of the central conductors is used as an input/output terminal, and the other ends thereof are used as ground terminals. The inductance per unit length of the central conductor from the central portion to the ground terminal is set to be smaller than that from the central portion to the input/output terminal.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2003Date of Patent: December 7, 2004Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yuichi Shimizu

Publication number: 20040227579Abstract: Provided is a nonreciprocal circuit element which has increased lengths of central conductors to be compatible with miniaturization while exhibiting superior performance. In the nonreciprocal circuit element, a first yoke has a rectangular upper plate, a pair of side plates bent downward from sides of the upper plate facing each other, and notch parts formed at the central portion of the pair of side plates. Ends of a magnet are placed within the notch parts. Thus, the magnet can be enlarged and a ferrite member provided corresponding thereto can also be enlarged. Accordingly, the lengths of conductors of central conductors mounted on the ferrite member are increased, thereby achieving high performance while not adversely affecting miniaturization.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2004Publication date: November 18, 2004Applicant: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yuichi Shimizu, Takamitsu Shibayama, Eiichi Komai

Publication number: 20040080375Abstract: A non-reciprocal circuit element includes first, second, and third central conductors, which are formed of thin films or thick films. Each of the first, second, and third central conductors includes a first extended portion which extends from one end of the corresponding central conductor and which is disposed on a side surface of the ferrite part and a second extended portion which extends from the other end of the corresponding central conductor and which is disposed on the side surface of the ferrite part. The adjacent first and second extended portions face each other with a second dielectric part formed of a thin film or a thick film disposed therebetween, and hence a capacitor is formed between the adjacent first and second extended portions. Without using known chip capacitors, the capacitors are thinly formed, leading to reduction in cost and size of the non-reciprocal circuit element.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2003Publication date: April 29, 2004Applicant: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yuichi Shimizu

Patent number: 5698228Abstract: There is provided a skin substitute that can suitably be used for covering the surface of a damaged skin area which is typically a wound produced by a traumatic local loss of the skin of the human body as a result of a burn or some other cause of damage. It is a skin substitute of a laminate comprising a squid chitin sheet and a fish skin collagen coat layer, which may be a salmon skin collagen coat layer. Such a skin substitute effectively exploits the suppleness and the effect of proving an environment for encouraging the production of lysozyme and defending the wound of squid chitin and, at the same time, compensate the disadvantage of poor adhesion of fibroblast cells that operate for curing the wound.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1996Date of Patent: December 16, 1997Assignees: Hokkaido Government, Daido Hoxan Inc.Inventors: Mitsuo Takai, Yuichi Shimizu, Josuke Shimizu, Kunio Yamazaki, Yoshiteru Kumabayashi, Hideki Shimizu, Kunishige Yamada

Patent number: 5419968Abstract: The invention provides surface-modified hydrophilic fluororesin moldings. The surface of a fluororesin molding is at least partly hydrophilized by irradiating at least part of the fluororesin molding with ultraviolet laser light not longer than 400 nm in wavelength in a state such that the molding is in contact with gas-treated water prepared by introducing into water a gas such as hydrogen gas, nitrogen gas or a rare gas or with some other specific aqueous liquid. The thus-obtained fluororesin moldings are suited for use, for example, as materials of artificial blood vessels excellent in antithrombotic property, and contact lenses free of modification-due discoloration. Further, they are expected to find a wider range of application where their performance characteristics are to be utilized.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1994Date of Patent: May 30, 1995Assignees: Gunze Limited, Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, Radiation Application Development AssociationInventors: Atsushi Okada, Yuichi Shimizu, Shunichi Kawanishi, Masanobu Nishii, Shunichi Sugimoto
