  • Patent number: 9533460
Abstract: An object is to improve the durability of the stiffener having a hard rubber member and a soft rubber member formed on the radially inner side and the radially outer side by laminating rubber strips. A tire includes bead cores, stiffeners provided on the outer circumferences of the bead cores, and a carcass ply. Ends of the carcass ply are disposed on the stiffeners. Each stiffener includes an inner rubber portion on the radially inner side, an outer rubber portion on the radially outer side, and a cover tape. The inner rubber portion is formed by laminating a first rubber strip. The outer rubber portion is formed by laminating a second rubber strip. The second rubber strip is composed of rubber having a lower rigidity than the inner rubber portion. The cover tape covers a part of the stiffener that comes into contact with the end of the carcass ply.

  • Patent number: 8905106
Abstract: End portions of a sheet-shaped rubber member are manually and firmly joined together. A pair of opening/closing members is arranged to sandwich and move along the end portions. An opening/closing mechanism opens/closes the pair of opening/closing members between an open position and a closed position where the end portions are joined together. A pair of guiding rollers is provided to one opening/closing member and guides each of the end portions to a joining position. A pressing roller is provided to the other opening/closing member and presses each of the end portions onto the guiding roller. A pair of joining rollers is provided to the pair of opening/closing members, respectively, and sandwiches each of the end portions guided by the pair of guiding rollers. The joining rollers roll on each of the opposing end portions and abut and join the end portions to each other.

  • Patent number: 8865256
Abstract: A tire printing device includes a printer head (2), positioned near a rotating tire (1), that ejects and applies coating material, an unevenness detection sensor (3) that detects a predetermined raised/recessed character on the surface of the rotating tire (1) and a PC (10) that sets the origin of rotation of the tire (1) based on a signal detected by the unevenness detection sensor (3) and synchronizes the operation start time of the printer head (2) with the origin of rotation in order to maintain a constant relationship between the position of the raised/recessed character and the position of application of the coating material. Desired printing is performed by the printer head (2) ejecting and applying the coating material onto a surface of the rotating tire (1) after the rotating tire is mounted on a rim and inflated to a regular shape by being applied with an internal pressure.

  • Patent number: 8524024
Abstract: An unvulcanized rubber member passed from the transfer terminal end of a liner to the outer peripheral surface of a winding roller is transferred and press-fitted to a winding body by rotating the winding roller. By this, the unvulcanized rubber member is transferred from the transfer terminal end of the liner to the winding body while being restrained by an outer peripheral surface of the winding roller. Thus, even if vibration is applied to a transfer means due to a diagonal waving, the winding position and the wound shape of the rubber member can be maintained substantially unchanged.

  • Publication number: 20130168008
Abstract: When end portions of a tire constituent member are to be brought into contact with each other and joined together, the end portions to be joined together are prevented from being caught by a pair of joining rollers. The end portions of the tire constituent member are arranged opposite to each other. The pair of joining rollers is made to roll on the end portions of the tire constituent member and the end portions are brought into contact with each other and joined together by the joining rollers. An entanglement preventing member is moved together with the pair of joining rollers and the end portions of the tire constituent member in front of the joining rollers. The end portions of the tire constituent member are pressed by the entanglement preventing member, and entanglement of the end portions is prevented.

  • Patent number: 8402801
Abstract: A helical cord having an elliptical shape and the like is manufactured so that a length-to-width ratio or a dimension of a shaped form of the cord to be shaped in a longitudinal direction can be changed. A cord (C) is sequentially passed through through holes (21H, 22H) of stationary and movable shaping bodies (21, 22) opposing each other of a shaping device (20). At that time, the movable shaping body (22) is moved along the stationary shaping body (21) by a moving device so that the through holes (21H, 22H) become eccentric with respect to each other, and the cord (C) passing between the eccentric through holes (21H, 22H) is bent and deformed so as to be shaped.

  • Publication number: 20110192526
Abstract: A tire manufacturing method in which a rubber strip is passed through and between a rotating pair of rollers and held by the lower roller. The rubber strip is moved to a formed body on a support, and wound helically and stacked. When the tip of the rubber strip is supplied, the rotational peripheral speed of the lower roller for stacking is made relatively slower than that of the upper roller to provide a difference in feeding amounts of the rubber strip by the rollers, and thus the tip of the rubber strip is guided to the lower roller side having a smaller feeding amount. After the tip of the rubber strip is held by the lower roller, the rotational peripheral speeds of the rollers are changed to the same speed, and the rubber strip is stacked.

  • Patent number: 7972195
Abstract: In a grinding device, first, an eddy-current-sensor detects a distance from the eddy-current-sensor to an outer peripheral surface of a belt layer while a tire to be retreaded held by a pair of half rims is caused to rotate. Thus, an eccentricity amount and an eccentricity direction of the tire to be retreaded with respect to a device axial center, corresponding to the phase of the tire to be retreaded, can be respectively determined, so position control signals corresponding to the phase, eccentricity amount and eccentricity direction of the tire to be retreaded can be generated. Next, on the basis of the position control signal, a carriage causes a rasp to be moved in a radial direction with respect to the tire to be retreaded along the radial direction whose center is a device axial center, and the rasp grinds a tread surface of the rotating tire to be retreaded.

  • Patent number: 7942567
Abstract: An extruder system includes an extruder for axially extruding a rubber or plastic material in a barrel. A gear pump adjusts an amount of extruded material that is discharged by engagement of gears. The gear pump includes a driving pinion and a driven pinion engaged with, and driven by, the driving pinion. A gear casing accommodates the pinions and includes side plates on both axial sides of the pinions. A casing body is arranged between the side plates and encloses a space on a radially outer side of the pinions. The side plate includes a suction side plate that has a suction port arranged opposite to that side of engagement region between the pinions and a discharge side plate that has a discharge port arranged opposite to that side of engagement region between the pinions. The suction and discharge ports are maintained out of axial communication with each other.

  • Publication number: 20110079343
Abstract: A cord reinforcing layer 30 can be highly efficiently fanned with easy control, and the amplitude and the wavelength of a wavy steel cord 32 can be made uniform throughout the cord reinforcing layer. When the wavy steel cord 32 (ribbon-like body 37) is wound plural times around the forming drum 35 to form the cylindrical cord reinforcing layer 30, the amount of extension is made decreased with distance from a set position P of a bead core 12 in the axial direction, and the amount of extension applied in advance to the wavy steel cord 32 in the vicinity of the set position P is approximated to the amount of extension according to the expansion and deformation of the wavy steel cord 32 at a position spaced away from the set position P, whereby at least either one of the amplitude and the wavelength of the wavy steel cord in the tire can be made uniform throughout the cord reinforcing layer 30.
