  • Publication number: 20050166054
Abstract: A data processing apparatus able to generate a motion vector using projection image data in a short time, wherein an access circuit stores vertical projection image data and horizontal projection image data of each macro block of frame data and reference image data at continuous addresses in a frame memory, whereby they are read at a high speed and output to a projection index data generation circuit.

  • Publication number: 20040184542
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes component units. A reduced image generating unit generates a reduced image by reducing the size of an image composed of moving picture data. A superblock matching unit calculates a motion vector of each superblock constituting the reduced image. A motion vector converting unit 33 converts the motion vector of each superblock into a possible motion vector common to four macroblocks. For a macroblock of interest, a possible vector selecting unit extracts an already motion vector in an adjacent macroblock and possible motion vectors. A base vector determining unit selectively determines a base vector from among the extracted possible vectors. A macroblock matching unit executes block matching in a predetermined search range around the base vector. The present invention can be applied to an MPEG-4 encoder.

  • Publication number: 20030152150
Abstract: The pixel values of a current macroblock are summed, and the pixel values of a reference macroblock are summed. The initial minimum sum of absolute differences between the current and reference macroblocks is determined. When the minimum sum of absolute differences is greater than the absolute difference between the summed pixel values in the current macroblock and the reference macroblock, the sum of absolute differences between the current macroblock and the reference macroblock is calculated. When the sum of absolute differences is smaller than the minimum sum of absolute differences, the value of the sum of absolute differences is set as the minimum sum of absolute differences. If all blocks of a search area have not been searched, the pixel values of a new reference macroblock are summed. When all blocks of the search area have been searched, the block type is determined and the motion vector is output.

  • Patent number: 6212898
Abstract: An outdoor unit (1), a parent unit (2), a plurality of child freezers, and a plurality of child refrigerators are provided. The child freezers are disposed in individual frozen display cases, while the child refrigerators are disposed in individual refrigerated display cases. A refrigerant heat exchanger (5) is disposed in only the parent unit (2). The outdoor unit (1) and the refrigerant heat exchanger (5) form a primary refrigerant circuit. A secondary refrigerant circuit is provided in the parent unit (2). Refrigerant circulates through the secondary refrigerant circuit, passing through the refrigerant heat exchanger (5). Each child freezer is provided with a refrigeration utilization side heat exchanger (3c) and the heat exchanger (3c) and the refrigerant heat exchanger (5) form a secondary refrigerant circuit through which refrigerant circulates.

  • Patent number: 5740679
Abstract: A higher temperature side unit having a higher temperature side compressor and a condenser to form a higher temperature refrigeration cycle is disposed at a position higher than a position where a lower temperature side unit forming a lower temperature refrigeration cycle is disposed. The higher temperature side unit is provided with a bypass passage which allows refrigerant to bypass the higher temperature side compressor. A shut-off valve is disposed in the bypass passage. When an open-air temperature sensed by an open-air thermometric sensor is low, the higher temperature side compressor is deactivated and the bypass passage is opened, so that refrigerant naturally circulates in the higher temperature refrigeration cycle.

  • Patent number: 4966108
Abstract: A ceramic-metallic interfacing joint assembly is disclosed. The joint assembly includes a pair of interfaced components in a highly loaded, sliding contact in which the contact stresses can be as high as 250,000 psi. Preferably, the pair of interfaced components includes a ball member and a complementarily shaped, mating socket member and is used in a diesel type internal combustion engine. One of the components is formed of a ceramic material having a density of at least 3.18 g/cm.sup.3 and the other component is formed of a metallic material. Preferably, the density of the ceramic material ranges from 3.18 g/cm.sup.3 to 3.25 g/cm.sup.3. This arrangement reduces the wear of the joint assembly in conjunction with the use of a lubricant which lubricates the components. Specifically, the metallic material is an iron based material while the ceramic material is a sintered silicon nitride. The ceramic material may be sintered with rare-earth metal oxides such as yttrium oxide.
