  • Publication number: 20080296158
Abstract: A device for electrophoresis applies a voltage to a medium in contact with a plurality of electric conductors so that a potential of adjacent conductors is within a certain range. This allows preventing decline in electrophoresis speed. A device for electrophoresis and transfer includes an electrode having a plurality of electrode regions being insulated one another and arranged in a specific direction. This allows providing a practical and easy-to-use device for electrophoresis and transfer. A device for transfer alters an applied voltage or applied voltage duration to a certain position to another position. This allows improving transfer efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20080053829
Abstract: There is provided an electrophoresis device (100) including an insulator (10) that includes: a first-separating-medium storing section (4?) for storing therein a first separating medium (4); a first opening (7) and a second opening (8) that are in communication with the first-separating-medium storing section (4?) and for defining a direction of separation on the first separating medium (4); and a light-transmissive portion for observing inside of the first-separating-medium storing section (4?) from outside, wherein the light-transmissive portion is covered with an anti-reflective layer (3). There is also provided an electrophoresis apparatus including the electrophoresis device (100). In one embodiment of the electrophoresis device (100), the anti-reflective layer 3 is not provided, and a light absorbing layer is provided opposite the light-transmissive portion with the first-separating-medium storing section in between.

  • Patent number: 7307261
Abstract: A fluorescence detecting apparatus includes: a light source for illuminating the surface of detection of a sample with excitation light; a CCD area image sensor for detecting fluorescence emitted from the sample; and a micromirror array device for irradiating excitation light in a 2-dimensional illumination pattern generated by an information processor based on the detected result from the CCD area image sensor. In this configuration, irradiation of weak excitation light on areas that contain large amounts of fluorescent dyes hence would emit strong fluorescence makes it possible to excite reduced amounts of fluorescence and thereby inhibit adverse effects such as blurring or spreading of light of fluorescent wavelengths around the areas as well as to prevent the high-sensitivity fluorescence detecting device from being saturated by excessive amounts of light.
