  • Patent number: 5748595
Abstract: In a cartridge loading mechanism, a carrier is arranged on the upper side of a cartridge holder for storing a cartridge having a recording medium. A loading base is arranged on an upper side of this carrier. This cartridge holder and the carrier are attached to a swinging cam. Further, this swinging cam is swingably attached to the loading base. The cartridge holder is vertically moved in association with a horizontal movement of the carrier. The cartridge holder is reciprocated between an inserting/discharging position of the cartridge and a chucking position of a spindle motor. Thus, the body of a drive unit can be made thin while dustproof performance is secured.

  • Patent number: 5291237
Abstract: A camera has a shutter which may also constitute a diaphragm. In a multi-flash mode the shutter selectively has a maximum aperture at an onset or at the end of the time base. The flash occurs in synchronism with a shutter waveform shaped by this aperture area and a time base element. In a second embodiment, a second diaphragm setting circuit is provided, in diaphragm priority photography, for computing a measurement value of a distance to a subject and a second diaphragm value from the guide number during an emission of flashed light. The diaphragm is set to the computed second diaphragm value, ad an electronic flash is energized with a desired aperture area. The diaphragm is set to an initial value to effect the photography at a time other than during the emission of flashed light. A timing circuit may be provided for setting the diaphragm to the second diaphragm value.

  • Patent number: 5189462
Abstract: A distance measuring system for a camera includes a plurality of light sources arranged in a row, and a receiver for receiving light reflected from a subject. The receiver outputs a signal corresponding to the position thereon at which light is received, and is a function of the direction of propogation of the light from its source and the distance to the object. The distance to the subject is calculated from the output of the receiver. The sources are selectively energized by manual control so that the system is adaptable for measurement in a plurality of different distance ranges. A display may be provided to mark a spot on an image of the subject, to enable the user to determine the subject that had been used for the distance determination.

  • Patent number: 5176007
Abstract: A refrigerator having a refrigerant circulating circuit for circulating a mixture of a refrigerant and a refrigerating machine oil. The refrigerator includes a compressor with a bypass circuit or a variable displacement compressor, a state detecting sensor for sensing the degree of separation of the refrigerant mixture, determining circuit for determining whether the detected degree of separation is in a two phase separation area, and a control unit for controlling the amount of the refrigerant passing through the bypass circuit or the displacement of the variable displacement compressor. When the refrigerant mixture enters into the two phase separation area, the amount of discharge or the displacement of the compressor is decreased. The temperature of refrigerant mixture is lowered accordingly and the phase changes from the two phase separation area. The refrigerating machine oil is maintained in a uniformly mixed state with the refrigerant and circulates with the refrigerant to the compressor.
