  • Publication number: 20160177817
Abstract: During normal engine operation, a temporary determination mode is executed in which whether or not there is an air-fuel ratio variation among cylinders is determined on the basis of distortion in output waveform of an LAF sensor, concurrently with determination of deterioration of a three-way catalyst, under a control condition of normal learning sensitivity of the learned value of a stoichiometry correction factor. If it is determined in the temporary determination mode that there is an air-fuel ratio variation, the determination mode is switched to a main determination mode and the learning sensitivity of the learned value of the stoichiometry correction factor is set to the sensitive side to determine whether or not there is an air-fuel ratio variation among the cylinders with higher reliability on the basis of the learned value of the stoichiometry correction factor (=the value of an enrichment process counter C2) which increases rapidly due to the air-fuel ratio variation among the cylinders.

  • Patent number: 9262674
Abstract: Disclosed is an orientation state estimation device capable of estimating with high accuracy the orientation state of a jointed body. An orientation state estimation device (100) estimates the orientation state of a body on the basis of image data of the body having multiple parts connected by joints. The device is provided with: a likelihood map generation unit (150) which, from the image data, for at least two parts of the jointed body, generates a likelihood map showing the plausibility distribution of where each part is most plausibly positioned; and an orientation state estimation unit (160) which, when a learning likelihood map, which is associated in advance with an orientation state, and an estimated likelihood map, which is generated on the basis of the image data, coincide to a high degree, estimates that the orientation state associated with said learning likelihood map is the orientation state of the object.

  • Publication number: 20160016530
Abstract: An airbag of a side airbag apparatus includes an upstream inflation portion, which inflates by inflation gas, and deploys frontward at a side of a vehicle seat. An opening is provided at a wall portion of the upstream inflation portion. A pressure regulator valve closes before an occupant is restrained by the upstream inflation portion, thereby restricting the inflation gas in the upstream inflation portion from flowing through the opening. Upon the occupant restraint, the pressure regulator valve cancels the restriction in response to a change in a tensed state of the dividing portion by an external force applied due to the restraint. A tear seam that connects valve body portions of the pressure regulator valve delays the opening time of the pressure regulator valve upon the occupant restraint by the upstream inflation portion relative to the opening time set only by the pressure regulator valve.

  • Publication number: 20150343980
Abstract: An airbag is stored in a storage portion provided in a side of the seat back of a car seat and fixed to a side frame portion. The airbag is deployed and inflated by inflation gas that is supplied in response to an impact from a side of the seat back. The airbag displaces a cover main body of a cover sideways from the seat back with a hinge portion function as a pivot, so that the storage portion is opened. The airbag includes an upstream inflation portion, which forms a rear part and receives inflation gas, and a downstream inflation portion, which is located forward of the upstream inflation portion. The downstream inflation portion receives inflation gas via the upstream inflation portion. The upstream inflation portion has a front end that is located forward of a front end of the cover when the upstream inflation portion is inflated.

  • Patent number: 9151636
Abstract: A guidance prompt used for guidance for a guide branch point ahead of a movable object is selected from among a plurality of potential guidance prompts, based on whether a distance from a guidance starting point where guidance starts to a guidance ending point by which guidance is required to be finished is greater than a distance traveled by the movable object while guidance is being spoken. The selected guidance prompt is then set as the guidance prompt for the guide branch point, and guidance for the guide branch point by the set guidance prompt is performed when the movable object reaches the guidance starting point associated with the set guidance prompt.
