    Abstract: An logging method for locating a watered zone in a horizontal well with high watercut problem by isotope labeling is disclosed, which successively includes the following steps: a. solidifying an isotope used in an isotope releasing device into a water-soluble carrier; b. connecting the isotope releasing device with a tubing and setting them to a horizontal segment of the well; c. dissolving the water-soluble carriers in the water at the bottom of the well to release the isotope, wherein the releasing rate is proportional to the flow rate of the water; d. starting a lift-up pump and beginning a production logging; and e. continuously performing y-ray energy-spectrum analysis on produced water on the ground, so as to locate the watered zone of the horizontal well with high watercut problem by the detected species and characteristic content of the isotope.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing time synchronization and an OFDMA receiver thereof are provided. The method preferably includes performing a differential phase correlation in a frequency domain based on one received sequence and one reference preamble and detecting an integer frequency offset based on a result of the differential phase correlation. The method and apparatus advantageously enable the use of one OFDM symbol to estimate ICFO and the use of a simple method to facilitate ICFO detection. Moreover, the performance of the integer frequency offset estimation becomes more robust in high noise and time-variant fading channels, with reduced hardware complexity.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for time synchronization and an OFDMA receiver thereof are provided. A preamble timing is obtained by a two-stage correlation in a time domain between a sequence of a received symbol and a reference preamble. The two-stage correlation is further simplified to perform a conjugate multiplication between a one-stage correlation and its correspondingly delayed result. A preamble boundary is adaptively determined by a peak value based on a result of the two-stage correlation. In this way, the time synchronization is achieved with a robust performance in a low SNR, high frequency offset or large delay spread fading channel.

    Abstract: Described is a WLAN/BT system with improved compatibility. It employs an adaptive algorithm that dynamically optimizes the WLAN data fragmentation size based on the current WLAN data rates such that the fragmented data packets fit the time slots allowed by the BT SCO stream gaps. The algorithm first uses system level information to acquire the concurrent BT traffic types to decide if TDM method needs to be enabled. Then it uses the smoothed WLAN date rate to calculate maximum fragmentation packet size consistent with current overall WLAN traffic.
