  • Patent number: 5041145
Abstract: The present invention provides a bridged stream corona generator including a first electrode comprising an electrical conductor having projections on its surface; a second electrode again comprising an electrical conductor, which is located in opposition to the first electrode; insulator means applied on at least the side of the second electrode in opposition to the first electrode; a high voltage power source connected to the first and second electrodes; and means for feeding a viscous oil onto the side of the insulator means which directs to the first electrode. With this arrangement, it is possible to smooth out irregularities caused by deposits on the side of the insulator means which faces the first electrode, thereby contributing to maintaining bridged stream corona discharge in a stable manner. The present corona generator lends itself well to purifying exhaust fumes from automobiles by corona discharge.

  • Patent number: 4939654
Abstract: A steering behavior dependent control system for controlling vehicular driving characteristics performs one or more control operations, such as anti-rolling suspension control, power assist control in a power steering system, rear wheel steering angle control in a four wheel steering system and so forth. The control system includes a steering angle sensor for monitoring steering angular displacement and produces a steering angle indicative signal. The control system is also provided a steering neutral position detector which detects steering at approximately a neutral position to produce an assumed steering neutral position indicative signal. A center value of a steering neutral range is projected on the basis of the steering angle indicative signal and the assumed steering neutral position indicative signal. Steering angle dependent control is thus performed by comparing the steering angle indicative signal value with the aforementioned center value to derive a magnitude of steering angular displacement.

  • Patent number: 4853649
Abstract: A distributed FET amplifier comprising an array of FET elements each having a gate terminal, a drain terminal and a source terminal. The gate terminals of the adjacent FET elements are connected by a first inductor, and the drain terminals of the adjacent FET elements are connected by a second inductor. Between the source terminals of each of the FET elements and the ground is connected a parallel circuit comprising a capacitor having a capacitance greater than the gate-source capacitance of the FET element and an impedance element connected in parallel to the capacitor for grounding the direct current. A bias voltage supply circuit for supplying a bias voltage to such as distributed amplifier is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4826205
Abstract: An anti-squat suspension control system includes an anti-squat control disabling means for disabling anti-squat control for a period while an engine idling condition detector switch is held closed or a given period after the engine idling condition detector switch is switched from closed position to open position. The system also includes fail detector means for monitoring operation of the engine idling condition detector switch to detect failure of the switch. When the failure of the engine idling condition detector switch is detected, the anti-squat disabling means is disabled.

  • Patent number: 4429885
Abstract: A piston ring assembly including a pair of rails engageable with a cylinder wall and a spacer and expander member for holding and expanding the rails. The spacer and expander member has a corrugated base and arms extending alternately upwardly and downwardly from lower and upper crowns of the corrugated base, which arms are inclined radially outwardly to provide an improved resilient spring-like action to the rails supported on the crowns.
