The cover body includes a top wall, a pair of mutually opposing side walls, and a back surface wall, and the end portions of the pair of side walls of the cover body on the back surface wall side thereof is capable of being pivotally mounted on the extension portions to thereby mount the cover body on the main body in such a manner that the cover body can be opened and closed. The height of the back surface wall of the cover body is set substantially equal to the thickness of the disk storage case when the cover body is closed.

    Abstract: A tape cartridge includes a pair of hubs and a casing. The respective hubs include respective drums for winding a tape-shaped medium thereon and respective cylinders with respective driving shaft insertion bores for accepting respective driving shafts of a recording/reproducing device. The hubs are rotatably supported in the a casing having upper and lower halves. The casing has driving shaft insertion holes formed therein so as to accept the respective driving shafts. The cartridge includes a slider for slidably covering the respective driving shaft insertion holes and a hub brake engageable with the respective hubs. The respective hubs have teeth provided on respective upper portions thereof so as to be engageable with the hub brake. Recesses are formed between the respective drums and the respective inner cylinders so as to have respective upper ends thereof opened.

    Abstract: A cartridge is capable of, with a recessed portion exposed when a shutter member moves to a closing position, engaging with swellings provided within a storage case when the cartridge is inserted into the storage case, and can be thereby prevented from coming off the storage case. When the shutter member moves to an opening position, the recessed portion is covered with the shutter member. When inserted into a recording/reproducing apparatus for a recording medium, a mechanism of the recording/reproducing apparatus can be therefore prevented from being caught on the recessed portion by the recessed portion being covered with the shutter member.

    Abstract: A disc cartridge of a three-piece structure capable of being kept from being caught in an information recording/reproducing apparatus during loading/unloading thereof with respect to the apparatus. The disc cartridge includes an upper plate, a lower plate, and a center frame arranged between the upper plate and the lower plate, which are joined to each other to form a casing in which a disc-like medium is received. The upper plate defines the whole upper surface region of the disc cartridge, whereas the lower plate defines the whole lower surface region of the disc cartridge. The disc cartridge also includes an engaged structure in which an engagement structure of the information recording/reproducing apparatus is engagedly fitted. The engaged structure is constituted by only the lower plate.

    Abstract: A disc cartridge capable of ensuring smooth sliding of a shutter on a casing while keeping a connection plate of the shutter from being abutted against or in contact with the casing, leading to a safe and increased-in-reliability sliding operation of the shutter. A lower plate of the shutter is provided with a holding pawl and a lower casing member is formed on an outer surface thereof with a slide groove, in which the holding pawl is slidably fitted. A side surface of the lower casing member on which the connection plate of the shutter is slid is outwardly projected beyond a side surface of an upper casing member on which the connection plate is likewise slid. Alternatively, the shutter is so formed that a bending angle between the lower plate and the connection plate is larger than that between an upper plate and the connection plate.

    Abstract: A disk storage case comprising a main body and a cover body. The main body is for storing a disk-shaped medium therein and includes a bottom wall. The cover body is mounted on the main body in such a manner that it can be freely opened and closed. The bottom wall of the main body includes hold projections and guide projections. The hold projections are integrally formed in the center portion of the bottom wall of the main body so as to be engageable with a center hole formed in the disk-shaped medium to thereby be able to hold the disk-shaped medium. The hold projections are arranged in an annular manner. The guide projections are respectively provided between the hold projections. Further, the guide projections are integrally formed in the bottom wall of the main body and higher than the hold projections. A slit is formed and surrounding a part of a root portion of each hold projection to thereby allow the hold projection to be deformed elastically.

    Abstract: A storage case includes a main body and a cover member so supported by rotary spindles as to be rotatable with respect to the main body and rotatable between an opening position and a closing position. The cover member includes cartridge holding members, formed on right and left sides thereof, for holding and integrally rotating a cartridge inserted into between the main body and the cover member when the cover member rotates to the opening position. When the cover member is closed, an opening, which permits an insertion of a mini disk from outside, is formed between the main body and the cover member. The cover member is opened, whereby the mini disk encased in the storage case also rotates, and hence, even when an index card is disposed between, e.g., the mini disk and the main body, the index card can be taken out without pulling out the mini disk.
