  • Patent number: 4804867
Abstract: In a three-state complementary MOS integrated circuit having an output circuit comprising a P-channel MOS transistor and an N-channel MOS transistor, part of a pre-output stage circuit between the gate inputs of the P-channel MOS transistor and the N-channel MOS transistor of the output circuit comprises a parallel circuit of a first series circuit and a second series circuit, each of the first series circuits comprising a P-channel MOS transistor to which the control signal is applied and an N-channel MOS transistor to which the in inverted control signal is applied. When the control signal and the inverted control signal are at the same potential, either the P-channel MOS transistors or the N-channel MOS transistors of the parallel circuit are off. Accordingly totempole current through the pre-output stage circuit is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4689653
Abstract: In a complementary MOS-IC (CMOSIC) comprising a p-channel MOS transistor with an n-channel MOS transistor serially connected thereto, a third diffusion layer is provided being of a conductivity type similar to that of the drains of the respective transistors. This third diffusion layer produces a plurality of parasitic bipolar transistors which limit the gain of the naturally occurring parasitic transistors in the CMOSIC. By limiting the gain, the third diffusion layer drastically reduces the chance of CMOSIC breakdown upon the occurence of high input transients.

  • Patent number: 4325096
Abstract: A zero-phase current transformer for use as a leakage current detecting element in a leakage current interrupter in which two magnetic materials of different permeabilities are provided so as to eliminate a range where the leakage current interrupter is inoperable without lowering its ability to distinguish noise components. The different magnetic materials may be provided as a single core constructed by mixing the materials of different permeabilities. Otherwise, the materials can be provided as annually-shaped magnetic pieces stacked one on top of the other. Still further, the materials of different magnetic permeability may be provided as bands of materials interwound to form alternating layers or one of the materials may be provided as at least a portion of a protective case.

  • Patent number: 4234900
Abstract: A sensed current resulting from the occurrence of a ground fault is amplified by a differential amplifier and applied to a waveform shaper after having been delayed. The waveform shaper includes two complementary transistors interconnected into a thyristor and a transistor for amplifying the delayed current from the thyristor to a constant current under the control of a negative feedback transistor. The constant current is applied to a thyristor to turn it on to activate an associated circuit interrupter.
