    Abstract: A dynamic focus circuit enables ideal focusing characteristics to be obtained across the entire screen of a wide-angled cathode ray tube, by generating a dynamic focus voltage having a flat-bottomed waveform through the addition of a simple circuit to a conventional analog circuit. If an S-shaping voltage method is used, the voltage of a signal induced in a secondary coil of a step-up transformer for raising the voltage of a parabolic waveform signal having a horizontal deflection period switches the gain for converting the parabolic waveform signal to a dynamic focus voltage, according to whether the induced voltage exceeds a specified reference value. If the induced voltage does not exceed the specified reference value, the parabolic waveform signal is converted to the dynamic focus voltage at a gain of less than one.

    Abstract: A display unit that enables reduction in number of additional parts, decrease in leakage magnetic field in a VLF band generated from the display unit in all directions at low cost, and suppression of the leakage magnetic field to the specified value or less according to MPR-II Standard with tolerance is provided. The display unit comprises a cathode-ray tube having a neck portion, a deflection yoke 2 that is mounted at a predetermined position on a periphery of the neck portion, and a driving circuit 3 that has a coil 4 and drives the deflection yoke 2. The driving circuit 3 (the coil 4) is provided at such a position and in such a direction that a magnetic field E.sub.2 generated from the driving circuit 3 (the coil 4) cancels out a leakage magnetic field generated E.sub.1 from the deflection yoke 2 substantially at the position in front of and 50 cm away from the center of a face panel of the cathode-ray tube.

    Abstract: A hydraulic pump including a pressure chamber, a drain passage communicable with the pressure chamber, a delivery port, a discharge path fluidly connecting the pressure chamber with the delivery port, and an orifice disposed in the discharge path. A first flow control valve is provided for variably controlling fluid communication between the pressure chamber and the drain passage in response to a difference between fluid pressures upstream and downstream of the orifice. A second flow control valve is disposed within the discharge path, which is operative to variably control an opening area of the orifice in response to energy of fluid passing through the discharge path. The second flow control valve includes a moveable spool exposed to a fluid pressure within the pressure chamber, a spring biasing the spool in such one direction as to increase the opening area of the orifice, and a spring retainer cooperating with the spool to define a spring chamber accommodating the spring.

    Abstract: A power assisted steering apparatus for a vehicle having a driving source, such as an engine, has an actuator, a hydraulic pump, a working oil pressure passage, and a drive switch. The actuator, which is in the vehicle steering mechanism, receives a supply or exhaust of a working oil to assist the steering operation. The pump is selectively driven by an engine via a clutch mechanism. The working oil discharged from the pump is introduced into the actuator via the passage. The check valve is interposed within the passage to enable flow in one direction away from the pump. The drive switch structure is disposed within the passage, downstream from the check valve. With this arrangement, the drive switch structure can be activated by pressure in the passage downstream of the check valve to control the clutch mechanism.

    Abstract: In a power steering system which has a fluid pump and a hydraulic actuator, there is used a flow control device which comprises a spool unit slidably received in a spool receiving bore in a manner to partition the bore into first and second pressure chambers. The spool unit comprises a hollow cylindrical outer spool slidably received in the spool receiving bore. The outer spool has a bottom portion exposed to the second pressure chamber. The bottom portion has an aperture formed therethrough. A cylindrical inner spool is incorporated with the outer spool. The inner spool includes a larger diameter portion slidably received in a major part of the outer spool and a smaller diameter portion slidably received in the aperture of the bottom portion of the outer spool. The inner spool is engaged with a control spring to be biased toward the first pressure chamber. A spring member is employed for biasing the outer and inner spools toward the second and first pressure chambers respectively.

    Abstract: A flow control device or valve used in a power steering system of an automotive vehicle. The flow control device comprises a housing formed with an axially extending hole in which a spool valve is movably disposed. A first pressure chamber is defined in the hole, with one end of the spool valve. A drain passage is opened to the first pressure chamber and closable with the spool valve. A second pressure chamber is defined in the hole, with the other end of the spool valve. A restricting orifice is provided to be communicated with the first pressure chamber. An introduction passage is formed to be communicated through the restricting orifice with a discharge passage and opened to the first pressure chamber. The pressure in the discharge passage is introduced to the second pressure chamber. A first spring is disposed in the second pressure chamber to bias the spool valve in a direction to close the drain passage. A spring holding member is movably and coaxially disposed in the axially extending hole.

A movable sleeve is installed in a valve spool accommodation hole and around the valve spool. The movable sleeve has through holes communicable with the drain passage and an inlet passage, respectively. The movable sleeve has a first axial end portion disposed in the first pressure chamber and a second axial end portion disposed in a low pressure chamber. A spring is disposed in the low pressure chamber for urging the movable sleeve toward the first pressure chamber side.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a composition highly containing .alpha.-lactalbmin. This process comprises adjusting, to pH of 2-4 or 5 or higher, cheese whey, acid casein whey or rennet casein whey; contacting the whey with an ion exchanger, to produce an exchanger-passed solution; and then, concentrating and/or desalting the exchanger-passed solution, if necessary after the exchanger-passed solution is adjusted to a pH of 4 or lower. According to the present process, it is possible to efficiently produce a high .alpha.-lactalumin content composition at low cost and in a simple and easy manner on an industrial scale. The resultant high .alpha.-lactalumin content composition can be used for food materials and medical materials.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a composition containing sialic acids. The process of the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) adjusting cheese whey or rennet whey to a pH of 2-5; (b) contacting the whey with a cation exchanger, to produce an exchanger-passed solution; (c) adjusting the pH of the exchanger-passed solution to a pH of 4 or lower; and then (d) concentrating and/or desalting the exchanger-passed solution. According to the present invention, it is possible to produce a composition having a high sialic acids content at a low cost and in a simple and easy manner on an industrial scale. The high sialic acids content composition thus produced can be utilized as food materials or medical materials and therefore is very useful, industrially.

C. for 1-50 hours in accordance with Ti content of the substrate steel. This process provided alloyed zinc-plated steel sheets having excellent drawability and powdering resistance.
