  • Publication number: 20070013217
Abstract: A seat cushion of a vehicle seat has a base seat whose front end is anchored to a front frame of a frame for a sitting portion, and whose rear end is connected to a rear frame of the frame for a sitting portion via helical tension springs. A supporter, supported via helical tension springs at a pair of left and right side frames of the frame for a sitting portion, is disposed at a lower side of the base seat so as to support a femoral region of a seated person. The supporter and the helical tension springs structure an auxiliary vibration system whose mass element is a femoral region of a seated person. The auxiliary vibration system is made to function as a dynamic vibration absorber with respect to up-down vibrations of a main vibration system whose mass element is an upper body of a seated person.

  • Patent number: 7134718
Abstract: An upper end portion of a seat backrest and a lower end portion of a head rest are superposed together. A rear end portion of an upper portion cushion member and a lower end portion of the seat backrest are superposed together. These superposed portions are sewn together by thin threads which break when pressing force of a predetermined value or greater is applied to the seat backrest. Thus, when pressing force of the predetermined value or greater is applied to the seat backrest, the thin threads break. A portion of the seat backrest which a shoulder portion of a seated occupant contacts, and a portion of the seat backrest which buttocks of the seated occupant contact, are enlarged, and impact force can be damped.

  • Publication number: 20060138832
Abstract: In order to provide a lumbar support which conforms to the curve of the spinal column so as not to give a feeling of incompatibility or other unpleasant feeling, and is easily adjusted to meet a user's preference, a lumbar support 10 of the present invention is structured such that a bulging member 30 provided with two housing parts 31 and 32 to house a cushioning material for adjustment 34 is fixed on the back surface of a flexible plate 20, which is incorporated so that the front surface of the flexible plate 20 is positioned to the front surface side of a back cushion 120. Accordingly, the curvature of the two housing parts 31 and 32 does not affect a feeling of contact with the waist as it is, but works as a feeling of contact with larger curvature owing to the flexible plate 20, which results in suppression of pressure on the nervous system between the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae.

  • Publication number: 20060055225
Abstract: At a vehicle seat 10, a cushion material 18 is provided at a frame 14 for a sitting portion of a seat frame 12, such that a seat cushion 20 is formed. An upper cushion member (three-dimensional solid knit fabric) 86, which is a surface layer portion of the cushion material 18, is stretched at the frame 14 for the sitting portion, and is layered on a cloth spring material 18 which is a lower layer portion of the cushion material 18. When the cloth spring material 68 is pressed and flexes downward due to pushing-against force which is based on body weight of a seated person at a time of sitting on the seat cushion 20, at regions of the cloth spring material 68 which are pushed by ischial tuberosities of the seated person, tensile forces of extension coil springs 80, which are forces in the pushing direction, act, and directions of tension of the cushion material 18 are in three dimensions.

  • Publication number: 20040260440
Abstract: There are provided a monitor for monitoring a human condition of a driver, and an awakening device for awakening a driver, which starts operation when received a predictive signal for fall-asleep being a signal for energy metabolism transition from an active state into a sleep state. The awakening device is structured to stimulate a pressure sense of the driver by reclining a seat back of a driver seat forward or rearward to thereby cause a shift force. Accordingly, without regard to an alarm reaction level to an alarm sound, it is possible to stimulate the driver and whereby awaken the driver more surely.

  • Publication number: 20040245036
Abstract: There is provided a bio-signal detector to detect a heart rate and a respiratory rate so that the determination of a kind of a seat load placed on a seat can be made. That is, whether the seat load is a human or an object is determined, and if it is the human, then the physique size is determined to be small or large (the level of the physique size is determined). Accordingly, as compared with the means based only on a weight of the seat load, the determination result is highly reliable. Besides, with the use of the bio-signal detector, the discrimination between the human and the object is ensured. Moreover, a structure additionally including a weight sensor allows the determination of the physique size in more accurate manner.

  • Publication number: 20040236235
Abstract: A human condition evaluation system, of which bio-signal analysis means includes a bio-signal peak value detection means for detecting a peak value for each cycle of an original waveform of a bio-signal data, and a power value calculation means for calculating a difference between the peak value at an upper limit side and the peak value at a lower limit side for every prescribed time range using respective peak values obtained by the bio-signal peak value detection means to thereby set the difference as a power value, is structured to determine a predictive signal for falling asleep from an active state into a sleep state. Different from conventional human condition evalution based simply on a Lyapunov exponent as an indicator, a new human condition evaluation system based on a functional status of an energy generation system of the living body is provided.

  • Publication number: 20040145230
Abstract: A seat comprising a seat frame, and a cushion material supported by the seat frame and having a three-dimensional knitted fabric which is formed by joining, with connecting threads, a pair of ground knit fabrics which are disposed so as to be separated from one another, wherein the cushion material comprising a first region whose elastic compliance when a reaction force is applied to an extending side of the cushion material when an occupant is seated on the seat is substantially equivalent to an elastic compliance of a portion of the occupant's body pressing the cushion material and a second region whose elastic compliance is larger than that of the first region. Accordingly, a thin and light seat can be provided, load concentration on the occupant's tuber ishiadicum bottom portion when seated for a long period of time can be mitigated, and vibration-transmitting characteristics can be improved.

  • Patent number: 6670018
Abstract: A net fabric to be processed into a net product capable of simplifying processing during manufacturing of a net product, leading to a reduction in manufacturing cost of the net product is disclosed. The net fabric is so constructed that the side edge portions of the net fabric, which are subjected to processing such as cutting, vibrational welding or the like, have a higher compressibility in the thickness direction than the middle portions of the net fabric. This ensures that the net fabric exhibits a better workability during the manufacturing of the net product using the net fabric in order to simplify the manufacturing process, and to lead to a reduction in manufacturing cost, even though the net fabric has a three-dimensional structure.
