  • Publication number: 20030006640
Abstract: A seat provides a band-like support for the body sides of a user so as to reduce the supporting pressure on the user's lumbar and to hold the user's upper body stably. In this seat, the center of a load to be received in regions symmetrically divided to a vertical central line of the seat are positioned outside of a back region defined by left and right angulus inferior scapulae and by the upper ends of iliac bones. Moreover, the load ratios in the individual regions are not more than 25% in the region corresponding to a region extended downward from the back region.

  • Patent number: 6485103
Abstract: A structural unit having a net member incorporated therein capable of preventing local application of undue force to the net member, to thereby increase reliability of the net member. An end section of a net member of a three-dimensional structure is treated so as to be reduced in cushioning characteristics and increased in hardness as compared with a portion of the net member positioned inside the end section. A frame constituting a part of the structural unit is provided with an end holding member so that an insertion port of an insertion gap of the end holding member is arranged in a particular direction or posture, resulting in the end section being readily held in the holding member by merely inserting the end section in the insertion gap. The end section is entirely inserted into the insertion gap, so that application of load to the end section may be carried out in a two-dimensional manner rather than a spot-like manner.

  • Publication number: 20020096932
Abstract: A vehicle seat 10 of the present invention uses a net member of a three-dimensional structure in which a front mesh layer and a back mesh layer are connected with a number of piles, as a covering member. A seat back covering member 30 has an upper end portion 30a thereof fixed at an upper end frame 22a, while a seat cushion covering member 40 has a front end portion 40e thereof fixed to a front end frame 21a, and side portions 30c of the seat back covering member 30 is supported to be movable up and down with respect to guide frames 22d. Both the covering members 30 and 40 are placed at an extremely low elongation percentage. Accordingly, the seat is excellent in vibration absorption characteristic, because movements of a support member 50 and metal springs 60 disposed under the seat cushion covering member 40 are not restricted and a mechanism of vibration absorption by them is not hindered.

  • Patent number: 6419647
Abstract: A motion sickness expression apparatus capable of causing expression of motion sickness on a person riding in any posture on the apparatus without setting the apparatus in a vehicle. The apparatus includes a base, a vertical vibrator to which the vibration application unit is connected so as to be vertically movable with respect to the base through link members and which is constructed so as to support the body carrying section thereon, and a magnetic spring mechanism including permanent magnets arranged on the base and vertical vibrator so as to repel each other, respectively. The magnetic spring mechanism also includes an actuator for moving the permanent magnet arranged on the base to vary areas of the permanent magnets opposite to each other, leading to vibration of the vertical vibrator.

  • Publication number: 20020060493
Abstract: A vehicle seat is composed of: a base member 40 elastically connected to and supported on any of frame members arranged separately in a width direction of a seat frame, through metal springs 41, to constitute a lower layer; a first net member 50 of a three-dimensional structure, in which a front mesh layer and a back mesh layer are connected by a large number of piles, stretched above the base member 40 and between the frame members arranged separately in the width direction, to constitute a middle layer; and a second net member 60 of a three-dimensional structure, in which a front mesh layer and a back mesh layer are connected by a large number of piles, disposed to cover the top of the middle layer and stretched with a tension lower than that of the first net member constituting the middle layer, to constitute an upper layer.

  • Publication number: 20020034901
Abstract: A net fabric to be processed into a net product capable of simplifying processing during manufacturing of a net product, leading to a reduction in manufacturing cost of the net product is disclosed. The net fabric is so constructed that the side edge portions of the net fabric, which are subjected to processing such as cutting, vibrational welding or the like, have a higher compressibility in the thickness direction than the middle portions of the net fabric. This ensures that the net fabric exhibits a better workability during the manufacturing of the net product using the net fabric in order to simplify the manufacturing process, and to lead to a reduction in manufacturing cost, even though the net fabric has a three-dimensional structure.

  • Patent number: 6356177
Abstract: A magnetic circuit includes a multi-pole magnet mounted on a predetermined surface of a yoke and having magnetic poles formed in a direction perpendicular to the predetermined surface of the yoke. The multi-pole magnet is separated into two pieces, and a single-pole magnet is interposed between the two pieces of the multi-pole magnet. Magnetic poles of the single-pole magnet are formed in a direction different from the direction in which those of the multi-pole magnet are formed.

  • Patent number: 6302487
Abstract: A seat includes a seat cushion frame, a seat back frame mounted to the seat cushion frame, and at least one three-dimensional net having upper and lower mesh layers and a pile layer made up of a large number of piles for connecting the upper and lower mesh layers. The three-dimensional net is stretched over substantially the entire region of the seat cushion frame and the seat back frame, thereby forming a seat cushion and a seat back. The three-dimensional net has a fixed end at a front end portion of the seat cushion and another fixed end at an upper end portion of the seat back. The seat also includes a first tension member attached to the three-dimensional net at a location adjacent to a central portion thereof for imparting tension thereto, and a second tension member attached to another portion of the three-dimensional net for fastening it to at least one of the seat cushion frame and the seat back frame.

  • Patent number: 6035980
Abstract: A magnetic spring has at least two permanent magnets (2 and 4) spaced from each other in a kinetic mechanism. At the time of input and at the time of output, the geometric dimensions between the two permanent magnets are changed by the kinetic mechanism or an external force. The change in geometric dimensions is converted into a repulsive force in the kinetic mechanism, thereby (1) making the repulsive force from a balanced position of the two permanent magnets greater at the time of output than at the time of input, or (2) deriving a damping term of the magnetic spring to provide nonlinear damping and spring characteristics.
