Abstract: Provided are a method of recovering from a duplex jam for an image forming apparatus and the image forming apparatus using the method. The method includes sensing a paper jam on a duplex transport section, opening and closing the duplex printing unit if the paper jam is sensed, re-sensing the paper jam, and immediately resuming printing if the paper jam is not re-sensed. Thus, if a paper jam occurs during duplex printing by an image forming apparatus including a duplex printing unit, a recovery operation can be performed by merely eliminating the paper jammed on a duplex transport path without a need to open and close a main body cover, thereby continuing printing and thus providing convenience to a user by relieving a cumbersome process from the user and allowing the user to conveniently and promptly continuing printing.
