Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring a code to detect intrusion code is used to monitor target code to determine whether the target code is a resident code in a system or an intrusion code into the system. A first code pattern is extracted from the target code and a second code pattern is loaded from a storage unit, and a distance between the first code pattern and the second code pattern is calculated. The calculated distance is compared to a threshold to determine whether the target code is an intrusion code.

Abstract: A key/display assembly includes a first switch and a display module disposed aside the first switch. A touch-sensitive input panel overlies the first switch and the display module, and the touch-sensitive input panel includes a first touch-sensitive region proximate the first switch. The electronic mobile device further includes a first key defined by the first switch and the first touch-sensitive region. As such, the first key is actuated by pressing the first touch-sensitive region to displace the first touch-sensitive region and thereby actuate the first switch.

Abstract: Fc fusion proteins of human growth hormone with good biological activities relative to rhGH on a molar basis are disclosed. The hGH-L-vFc fusion protein comprises hGH, a flexible peptide linker of about 20 or fewer amino acids, and a human IgG Fc variant. The Fc variant is of a non-lytic nature and shows minimal undesirable Fc-mediated side effects. A method is also disclosed to make or produce such fusion proteins at high expression levels. Such hGH-L-vFc fusion proteins exhibit extended or prolonged serum half-life and/or good biological activities relative to that of rhGH on a molar basis, leading to improved pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, thus fewer injections will be needed within a period of time.

Abstract: A multi-action capacitive switch comprising a capacitive sensing area in a surface, a plunger comprising conductive material, and a structure of flexible conductive material. A change in capacitance caused by the presence of a user's finger travels from the capacitive sensing area, down the conductive material of the plunger, over the structure, and to a capacitive touch detector in contact with the structure. An actuation of the switch, for example by pressing, is detected by an actuation detector. In a handheld electronic device, a user may initiate a phone call using such a multi-action capacitive switch. The method includes displaying a list of phone numbers in response to detection of a user's finger on a predetermined key and calling one of the numbers when the user actuates the predetermined key.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a face detector detecting face images from still-image frames successively extracted from a moving-image stream in accordance with image information items regarding the still-image frames, a face-feature-value calculation unit calculating face feature values of the face images in accordance with image information items regarding the face images, an identity determination unit determining whether a first face image in a current frame and a second face image in a previous frame represent an identical person in accordance with at least face feature values of the first and second face images, and a merging processor which stores one of the first and second face images when the first face image and the second face image represent an identical person, and which stores the first and second face images when the first face image and the second face image do not represent an identical person.

Abstract: A method of providing security on a portable electronic device and a portable device for the same are provided. In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a portable electronic device, comprising: a processor; a touch-sensitive display having a touch-sensitive overlay connected to the processor; wherein the processor is configured for: locking the device in response to detection of a trigger condition; detecting touch gestures performed at any location on the touch-sensitive display; adding a distinct input value associated with each identified touch gesture to an input buffer to form a series of input values; comparing the series of input values in the input buffer to a series of values corresponding to a predetermined touch gesture passcode sequence; and unlocking the device when the series of input values in the input buffer match the series of values corresponding to the predetermined touch gesture passcode sequence.

Since the aminopyrazole derivatives of the present invention can reduce an ischemic cell death significantly, they can be effectively used for the prevention and treatment of ischemic diseases mediated by ischemic cell death, or protection of organs.
