  • Patent number: 6737065
Abstract: A method for producing mushroom mycelia and uses of the mushroom mycelia. Mushroom mycelia can be cultured at low cost in a broth made of the water from the washing of grains. Also, mushroom mycelia rich in trace minerals can be cultured in a broth supplemented with trace minerals. Feeding of feedstuffs mixed with the mushroom mycelia culture produces duck meats with excellent taste and quality and low cholesterol content.

  • Patent number: 6569475
Abstract: Disclosed are a method for culturing mushroom mycelia using grains, a culture product, and use of the culture product. Edible or medicinal mushroom mycelia are inoculated and cultured in solid media made of grains. Induction of the cultured mushroom mycelia to undergo autolysis produces autolysates rich in antitumorigenic and other medicinally useful materials. The squeezing of the autolysates produces a liquid filtrate, leaving a paste. The filtrate is concentrated for use in foods or medicines. The paste is processed into a nutrient-rich gruel or other foods.

  • Publication number: 20020145129
Abstract: A phosphor emits blue color with high luminance and high color purity. The phosphor is fabricated by growing the host material of MX including a II group element (M=Ca, Sr, Zn, Ba or Mg) and a VI group element (X=S or Se) by reacting an M-precursor with a compound including the VI group element, and adding Pb2+ ions into the host material as light-emitting center ions by forming a PbX thin film through a surface saturation reaction between a Pb-precursor and H2X at a reaction temperature higher than a decomposition temperature of the Pb-precursor, wherein the Pb-precursor is a metalorganic compound in which Pb is covalent-bonded with an organic functional group.

  • Patent number: 6231829
Abstract: Disclosed is a carbonaceous material for anodes of lithium ion rechargeable batteries. The carbonaceous material consists of soot particles which are prepared from liquified propane gas through thermal decomposition. The soot particles are of disordered or amorphous carbon with very small crystallite sizes (La, Lc≦30 Å), containing a large quantity of unorganized carbon. When being used as an active material for an anode of a lithium ion secondary cell, the soot shows far greater reversible capacity than do conventional graphite carbonaceous materials.

  • Patent number: 5834599
Abstract: Monoclonal antibodies are revealed which bind to the gp 120 protein on the envelope of HIV-1. These antibodies neutralize HIV-1. They inhibit the infection of T cells, and also inhibit syncytium formation. Further, the antibodies are group-specific and neutralize different strains and isolates of HIV-1. These antibodies have a variety of uses, including the treatment and prevention of AIDS and ARC. The antibodies are used in immunotoxins which are specifically toxic to HIV-1 infected T cells.

  • Patent number: 5406518
Abstract: The present invention discloses an apparatus for receiving an ordered sequence of input data and for delaying the output of a delay output item by a variable-length delay-time. The apparatus includes an input port for receiving the ordered sequence of input data and the variable-length delay-time. The apparatus further includes an integrated data storage, a random access memory (RAM) for storing the ordered sequence of input data according to a storage-order corresponding to the ordered sequence of the input data. The apparatus further includes a delay output port for accessing and outputting the delay output item in the storage means according to the variable-length delay-time and the storage-order such that the delay output item is delayed by the variable-length delay-time.

  • Patent number: 5345273
Abstract: A system is disclosed for cancelling ghosts including I daisy chained variable delay elements, the first of which receives a video signal. J multiplexers are also provided, each of which has at least one input connected to the output of each of the I variable delay elements. A transversal filter element is connected to the output of each multiplexer for filtering the delayed video signals selected by the corresponding multiplexer connected thereto. Finally, an adder is provided for adding together the filtered video signals outputted by the transversal filter elements.

  • Patent number: 5335009
Abstract: The present invention comprises a method for characterizing a multi-path signal transmission in transmitting a plurality of signals with a plurality of cyclic fields each including a plurality of horizontal scanning periods wherein some of the scanning periods are vertical blanking periods. The method comprising the steps of: (a). transmitting periodically in a plurality of the scanning periods in one of the fields at least two reference signals each with a different predefined signal characteristics; (b). receiving the plurality of signals including the reference signals; and (c). processing the received signals including the received signals of reference signals for detecting a multi-path channel delay of the signal transmission.
