  • Patent number: 9609527
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for coordinating interference mitigation techniques and beamforming. Information about transmissions made by at least one access node neighboring a first access node is obtained. Further, profile data for a wireless device within a transmission range of the first access node is obtained. The systems and methods contemplate determining that transmissions from the first access node to the wireless device will utilize beamforming, based upon the profile data for the wireless device. The first access node is instructed to schedule wireless transmissions to the wireless device utilizing beamforming, based upon the determination to use beamforming.

  • Patent number: 9609651
Abstract: A wireless air interface may be defined for communication with a wireless communication device (WCD). The wireless air interface may include paired low-frequency channels and paired high-frequency channels, where the paired low-frequency channels include a low-frequency downlink channel and a low-frequency uplink channel, and where the paired high-frequency channels include a high-frequency downlink channel and a high-frequency uplink channel. It may be determined that, on at least one of the downlink or uplink channels, the WCD is experiencing a quality of wireless coverage below a threshold wireless coverage value. Possibly in response to the WCD experiencing the quality of wireless coverage below the threshold wireless coverage value, the downlink and uplink channels may be reconfigured so that the paired low-frequency channels include two low-frequency uplink channels and the paired high-frequency channels include two high-frequency downlink channels.

  • Patent number: 9426715
Abstract: A first access node receives from a wireless device in communication with the first access node an identifier of a second access node detected by the wireless device. It is determined that a communication link has not previously been established between the first access node and the second access node based on the identifier. The wireless device is instructed to provide a signal level of a signal from the second access node, and when the signal level of the second access node signal meets a criteria, a communication link is established between the first access node and the second access node.

  • Patent number: 9363716
Abstract: A first access node co-located with a second access node. The first access node communicates using a first type of wireless service. Scan results indicate whether a wireless device meets a first threshold criteria for being served by the second access node using a second type of wireless service. A time series of a count of these wireless devices is determined. From the time series, an indicator of a moving average of the time series is determined. Based on the moving average, the wireless devices are configured with an indicator of a second threshold criteria that determines whether a respective one of the wireless devices meets a second threshold criteria for being served by the first access node using the first type of wireless service.

  • Patent number: 9264960
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining candidates for handover of wireless devices in a wireless network. An application requirement, a mobility, and an activity factor associated with wireless devices in communication with a first access node may be used to classify wireless devices. The first access node may then receive signal information and identifiers of second access nodes from the wireless devices. The second access node identifiers may be transmitted in response to a reporting event based on a first signal level of the first access node and second signal levels of the second access nodes. A communication link between the first access node and each second access node may be used to transmit second access node network characteristics to the first access node in order to determine if the second access node is a candidate for handover of wireless devices having classification criteria.

  • Patent number: 8467780
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for provisioning service flows in broadband wireless access communication. In a broadband wireless access communication system, if a base station receives a registration request message from a mobile station, and if the base station inserts information about service flows to be provisioned by a base station into a registration response message and transmits the registration response message to the mobile station after the registration request message is received, the mobile station determines if the mobile station transits into a normal operation mode corresponding to the information and exactly recognizes a time point at which the mobile station goes into the normal operation mode.

  • Patent number: 7855028
Abstract: Disclosed is a separator plate for a molten carbonate fuel cell, which functions to reform a fuel gas while allowing it to efficiently flow therein and thereout, thus producing hydrogen and carbon dioxide, which are then supplied into an anode, and which functions to realize the electrical connection between the anode and the cathode. In the center plate, having a central portion and peripheral portions of the separator plate, the central portion has gas flow paths, that is, guide protrusions and guide grooves, and the peripheral portions are formed into sidewall parts through a folding process, and thus the number of constituents of the separator plate is minimized, thereby reducing the area to be welded. Further, the sidewall parts are integrally structured with the center plate, thereby increasing airtightness and solving problems of corrosion which may be caused in the welded area.

  • Patent number: 7813361
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for transmitting and receiving hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) buffer capability information in a broadband wireless access communication system. According to the system and method, a mobile station detects its own HARQ buffer capacity, and transmits a message including information about the detected HARQ buffer capability to a base station. The base station receives the message and determines the amount of a transmission signal to be allocated to the mobile station based on the HARQ buffer capability, so that it is possible to operate a HARQ scheme in accordance with the HARQ buffer capability of the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 7573841
Abstract: Disclosed are methods for transmitting/receiving a traffic indication message in a wireless communication system. In the wireless communication system, a base station (BS) groups a plurality of sleep mode IDs, and broadcasts a traffic indication message that includes first bitmap information indicating whether traffic corresponding to respective the sleep mode ID groups exists as well as second bitmap information indicating whether traffic indicators with respect to the respective sleep mode IDs that belong to the sleep mode ID groups exists. A mobile subscriber station (MS) which is allocated with any one of the plurality of sleep mode IDs, determines whether the traffic occurs in the sleep mode ID group to which the MS itself belongs using the first bitmap information if the MS receives the traffic indication message, and checks the traffic indicator of the terminal itself using the second bitmap information if the traffic occurs in the sleep mode ID group to which the MS belongs.
