Abstract: To provide random seek of a preview position for streaming video, while playing a video stream, a preview position of the video stream is sought, and a preview result extracted from the video stream corresponding to the preview position is displayed while the video stream continues playing. Over the Internet, the preview position may be sent to a transmitting device, and the transmitting device may extract the preview result, then transmit the preview result simultaneously while transmitting the video stream.

Abstract: A method for providing location-based information services to a portable electronic device includes the steps of: providing an information platform and a user preference settings database for receiving and recording preference settings data of a user of the portable electronic device, respectively, the preference settings data including categories of information and location range; receiving positioning information from the portable electronic device using a positioning module; selecting location information from a location information database in accordance with the preference settings data recorded in the user preference settings database that corresponds to the positioning information received by the positioning module; and transmitting the selected location information to the portable electronic device. Since location-based information services are provided based on the preference settings data, the user receives only the location information that he or she prefers.

Abstract: A method for displaying a location based service (LBS) event message to be implemented by a target portable electronic device includes the steps of: (a) upon receipt of the LBS event message, retrieving an event title from the LBS event message; and (b) displaying the event title in a ticker display manner on a display screen of the target portable electronic device.

Abstract: The present invention is a method for enhancing image resolution. A high-resolution image is decomposed into plural primary image data with DVD/SVCD/VCD standard image resolution and then these plural primary image data are stored in plural user data format or secondary viewing angle data format of DVD/VCD/SVCD image data carrier. Next, the average value of pixels at the same positions of the plural primary image data is calculated and secondary image data are formed. Finally, the secondary image data are stored in a video-audio data format or a primary viewing angle data format of DVD/VCD/SVCD image data carrier. In order to play the high-resolution image data carrier, the plural primary image data is combined and restored to form a high-resolution image, hence achieving the goal of enhancing the image resolution of DVD/SVCD/VCD.

The media data is analyzed to generate a second program according to a predetermined event. Abstract: All possible loading patterns for a nuclear reactor core are searched and optimized for compliance with design constraints. The fuel inventory is divided into a few batches according to coarse levels of reactivity. A recursive enumeration process identifies patterns meeting selected core position constraints, which can be user modified to adjust the search space size. For the batch loading patterns satisfying the constraints, the batches are divided into several smaller batches. A sensitivity matrix linearizing the relationship between fuel assembly position and the depletion model is processed through mixed integer linear programming with branching and bounding to identify an optimal daughter loading pattern. The process is repeated through several levels of batch refinement and selection of optimal daughter patterns, including a level where burnable absorbers are assigned to feed assemblies, until the individual fuel assembly level is reached.

Abstract: A bidirectional pneumatic impact wrench has a pneumatic motor and an air control valve. The pneumatic motor has a forward air inlet and a reverse air inlet. The air control valve directs compressed air selectively into either the forward air inlet or the reverse air inlet to change the direction of rotation of the pneumatic motor and includes a rotatable shaft. The shaft has an exterior surface and a spiral forward air groove and reverse air groove that are symmetrically defined in the exterior surface to direct the compressed air efficiently. The air control valve is simple to fabricate and directs the compressed air efficiently into the pneumatic motor to improve power and efficiency of the pneumatic motor.

Abstract: A method of monitoring reactivity changes in a nuclear reaction when the nuclear reaction is subcritical. The method controls the parameter of the nuclear reaction that affects reactivity of the reaction to slightly alter the reactivity while monitoring an output of a source range detector. The Inverse Count Rate Ratio from the output of the detector is determined periodically during a transient portion of the output. A correction factor is applied to the Inverse Count Rate Ratio data and the data is plotted as a function of time. The correction factor linearizes the Inverse Count Rate Ratio data so that the curve can be predictably extrapolated.
