  • Patent number: 6895393
Abstract: For changing services to readers who desires to obtain electronic books exactly or minutely, an electronic book management system 1 distributes at least electronic purchase certificates relating to books which are stocked at a bookstores owing a bookstore terminal device 2, in advance, to that bookstore terminal device 2. When buying the book(s), a reader obtains in an IC card 4 owned by her/him a purchase certificate(s) of that book(s) which she/he bought, from the bookstore terminal 2. When ordering to obtain the electronic book(s), the reader transmits the purchase certificate(s) from a reader terminal device 3 to the electronic book management system 1 through a communication network 5. The electronic book management system 1 changes over it's service when supplying the electronic book(s) to that reader depending upon the existence of the purchase certificate(s).

  • Publication number: 20050032493
Abstract: A multimode wireless terminal suitable for received level monitoring for a base station serving as an intersystem handover destination includes a first wireless transmitter-receiver unit for GSM, a second wireless transmitter-receiver unit for WCDMA, and a communication processor unit and an antenna switch unit connected to these wireless transmitter-receiver units. While conducting communication with a WCDMA network system via the second wireless transmitter-receiver unit, a level of a signal received from a GSM base station is monitored via the first wireless transmitter-receiver unit. A communication processor unit determines whether the level monitoring is interfered with by a WCDMA transmission signal, on the basis of a relation between a WCDMA transmission frequency and a reception frequency supplied from the GSM base station.

  • Publication number: 20040147240
Abstract: Because there are different voltages at two current output terminals of a current divider, the voltages at the current input terminals of two current switch circuits are not affected mutually even with a large amplitude of local signals. Accordingly, the performance of a quadrature mixer can be enhanced by increasing the amplitude of the local signals. Bias currents are supplied to the two current switch circuits through the current divider from a common DC current source which essentially supplies a bias current to a V/I converter and, therefore, power consumption is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040105450
Abstract: An image captured by a camera can be sent to and stored in a controller on a LAN as well as to a high-capacity camera with more memory than other camera devices on the LAN and to a camera on another LAN. This allows captured images to be recorded without losing the images even if an irregular event is detected and an irregularity takes place in the camera device at the site.

  • Publication number: 20040090748
Abstract: There is described a multi-layer printed circuit board and a method of installing it. The circuit board includes a first signal layer formed on its obverse surface; a ground layer arranged at a position next to the first signal layer; an electronic power source layer arranged at a position next to the ground layer; and a second signal layer formed on its reverse surface. The first and second patterns are formed around peripheral areas of the first and second signal layers, respectively. The first ground pattern and the second ground pattern are electrically coupled to each other by plural through holes, and the multi-layer printed circuit board is installed on an electro-conductive housing in such a manner that a substantially whole area of the second ground pattern electrically contacts a mounting area of the electro-conductive housing, the mounting area being an electro-conductive area continuously coupled to the electro-conductive housing.

  • Publication number: 20040046871
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a photographing apparatus or a portable terminal equipped with a photographing apparatus which surely restrains one from taking pictures in any area where photographing is prohibited. When the CCD camera 107 is turned on and the portable communication terminal 103 is set in the photographing mode, the short-distance wireless communication unit 113 is also turned on so that it is ready to receive photographing restrain information wirelessly transmitted from the photographing restrain information transmitting unit 101. If the short-distance wireless communication unit 113 receives photographing restrain information other than “photographing—prohibited”, then the control unit 117 controls the CCD camera based on the photographing restrain information, thereby permitting photographing the object 105 under some restrain.

  • Patent number: 6319225
Abstract: An injection syringe including a device for preparation of an injection in situ, useful to the injection which is liable to suffer chemical changes if left for a long time in the state of solution or dispersion ready to inject. The injection syringe is portable by a patient who may prepare a necessary injection in situ with the use of a device included in the syringe which will automatically perform an injection with a prescribed dosage. The injection syringe includes a device for preparation of an injection, whereby mechanical impacts affecting the medicine and consequently, chemical changes with a medicine would be minimized during the step of dissolving the medicine. The syringe as noted is especially useful for preparation of injection and injection of human growth hormones, interferon and various polypeptides which are of an environmentally sensitive nature and liable to suffer chemical changes if left for a long time in the state of solution or dispersion.
