After forming a nickel-platinum alloy film over a semiconductor substrate, by carrying out a first thermal treatment at a thermal treatment temperature of 210 to 310° C. using a heater heating device, the technique causes the nickel-platinum alloy film and silicon to react with each other to form a platinum-added nickel silicide layer in a (PtNi)2Si phase. After removing unreacted nickel-platinum alloy film, the technique carries out a second thermal treatment having the thermal treatment temperature higher than that of the first thermal treatment to form the platinum-added nickel silicide layer in a PtNiSi phase. The temperature rise rate of each thermal treatment is set to 10° C./s or more.

    Abstract: An organic EL display apparatus has a driving circuit. In the driving circuit, the source and drain of a driving transistor and the anode and cathode of an organic EL device are connected in series between voltage sources. A current passes between the source and drain of the driving transistor and between the anode and cathode of the organic EL device in accordance with a voltage between the gate and source of the driving transistor. Consequently, the organic EL device emits light. In order to store the voltage in the capacitor, a constant voltage source is connected to the gate of the driving transistor and the above-described series connection is disconnected at the source of the driving transistor and connected to a signal source. Then, a current signal output from the signal source passes between the source and drain of the driving transistor, and charges are stored in a capacitor in accordance with the current signal.

    Abstract: An organic EL display apparatus has a driving circuit. In the driving circuit, the source and drain of a driving transistor and the anode and cathode of an organic EL device are connected in series between voltage sources. Consequently, the organic EL device emits light.     Abstract: A pointed shape may be present on the top end of the capacitor bottom (lower) electrode of a cylindrical capacitor. To cover this pointed end, a two-layer dielectric film of a capacitor dielectric film and another capacitor dielectric film is formed. As a result, while the capacitor bottom electrode has a pointed shape on its top end, the dielectric film covering the portion having a pointed shape has a greater thickness than the dielectric film covering the other parts of the vertical portion. Thus, even if the portion with a pointed shape on the capacitor bottom electrode has a concentration of electric field, the dielectric film exhibits a sufficient insulation performance to prevent leakage current. In this way, a semiconductor device is provided with an improved property of a capacitor dielectric film by the reduction of the risk of generating a leakage current in the capacitor dielectric film.
