  • Patent number: 4483141
Abstract: A stirling cycle engine including a working piston defining a working chamber, a crankshaft located in a crankchamber, a connecting rod connecting the working chamber with the crankshaft, the connecting rod being passed through intermediate members. A gas seal structure is provided in the intermediate members around the connecting rod, the gas seal structure including a first oil chamber and a second oil chamber, the second oil chamber being located closer to the crankchamber than the first oil chamber, a resilient sealing ring disposed between the first and second oil chambers and having an outer surface tapered toward the crankchamber to reduce diameter thereof, a spring for biasing the sealing ring toward the crankchamber so that the outer surface of the sealing ring is urged to an opposing surface formed in one of the intermediate members.

  • Patent number: 4282716
Abstract: Stirling cycle refrigerator comprising a pair of compression chambers provided at diametrically opposite positions, a pair of compressor pistons positioned respectively in the compression chambers for reciprocating movement therein, a pair of displacer chambers provided at diametrically opposite positions with each other, the displacer chambers being located along a diametrical line which makes an angle of 90.degree. with respect to a diametrical line along which the compression chambers are located, a pair of displacer pistons positioned respectively in the displacer chambers for reciprocating movement therein, rotatable swash plate means associated with the compressing and displacer pistons for producing reciprocating movements of the pistons, one of the compressing chambers being connected with one of the displacer chambers, and the other compression chamber being connected with the other displacer chamber so that stirling cycles are effected when the swash plate means is effected.

  • Patent number: 4240262
Abstract: A cryopump device comprising a refrigerator section which has at least two expansion chamber cooling elements disposed in a space to be evacuated, a shielding wall disposed in the space encircling both expansion chamber cooling elements and formed by a thermally conductive material, the shielding wall being in heat transfer contact with one of the expansion chamber cooling elements, a condensation panel disposed inside the shielding wall and being in heat transfer contact with the other of the expansion chamber cooling elements, the shielding wall having an opening proximate the condensation panel so that the space is cooled by the other expansion chamber cooling element through the condensation panel.

  • Patent number: 3957145
Abstract: Clutch controlling apparatus which may be utilized in industrial-type vehicles, such as for example, forklift trucks, for controlling the vehicle during inching operations includes a source of fluid pressure, a fluid pressure-type clutch fluidically connected to the pressure source, an inching valve disposed within the fluid circuit connecting the fluid pressure source and the clutch mechanism which controls the degree to which the clutch mechanism is actuated and which in turn is actuated to a degree which is dependent upon the depression of the vehicle brake pedal, and limiting means for selectively inactivating the inching valve such that the inching valve is inoperative independent of the brake pedal. In this manner, when the vehicle is being operated on level ground, the inching operation is performed by intermittently depressing the brake pedal which actuates the inching valve which in turn deactivates the clutch mechanism thereby terminating driving torque to the vehicle transmission.
