  • Patent number: 8784141
Abstract: A connector (A) includes a partition (40) for partitioning an insertion hole (35) for a tab (15) and a mold removal space (39) for a locking lance (37). A retainer (44) is pivoted between a partial locking position and a full locking position. A lock (43) restricts a displacement of the retainer (44). A retracted portion (50) is formed in an area (41R) of a facing wall (41) behind the retainer (44) to mold the lock (43) and retracted from an insertion path for a male terminal fitting (10) as compared with an area (41F) of the facing wall (41) before the retainer (44). The retainer (44) includes a restriction (48) for restricting the inclination of the male terminal fitting (10) by being so displaced, at the partial locking position, that a rear end of the male terminal fitting (10) moves toward the retracted portion (50).

  • Patent number: 8784144
Abstract: A rectangular tube (10) of a terminal fitting (T) includes a lid plate (16) extending substantially at a right angle from the extending end of a right side plate (15) and formed with a locking hole (20) extending over the entire width. A front plate (19F) is cantilevered from the right side plate (15) and arranged before the locking hole (20). A rear plate (19R) is cantilevered from the right side plate independently of the front plate (19F) and is behind and adjacent to the locking hole (20). A retracted portion (21) is formed over the entire width at the rear plate (19R), retracted inwardly of the rectangular tube (10) from the front plate (19F) to provide a height difference within the range of an engagement margin with a locking projection (34) and capable of facing a rear end of the locking projection (34).

  • Patent number: 8740645
Abstract: A terminal fitting (T) includes a locking plate (19) extending from a first side plate (17) and a stabilizer (22) projecting from a second side plate (18). A cutout (35) is formed at the extending end edge of the locking plate (19) and engages the stabilizer (22) to restrict relative displacements of the locking plate (19) and the second side plate (18) to define a first linking portion (27) that links the base plate (16) and a first contact piece (23). A second linking portion (28) links the second side plate (18) and a second contact piece (24). A restricting portion (36) is formed on the locking plate (19) and restricts displacement of the second contact piece (24) away from the first plate-like contact piece (23).

  • Publication number: 20140134867
Abstract: A connector includes: (i) a lock arm that extends rearwardly in a cantilevered shape from a housing main body, and (ii) a detecting member arranged to be movable forward from an initial position to a detecting position. The detecting member includes (i) an elastic arm portion extending in a cantilever shape diagonally upward and forward; (ii) an abutting portion at an extended end portion of the elastic arm portion and restricting movement of the detecting member from the initial position to the detecting position; (iii) a pair of walls, one at the left and one at the right, raised from the top surface of the housing main body; (iv) a bridge portion connecting top ends of the walls; and (v) an excessive bending restriction portion restricting excessive bending of the lock arm upward by covering the top surface of the lock arm with the bridge portion.

  • Publication number: 20130237081
Abstract: A protection wall (13) stands up from a rear end part of a housing main body (11) and restricts an operation of a disengaging portion (28) of a lock arm (12) by covering the disengaging portion (28). A detector (70) is made movable to a detection position by being pushed forward when the housing main body (11) is properly connected to a mating housing (50). Further, the detector (70) includes a rear portion (73) located behind the lock arm (12) and to be pushed when the detector (70) is moved to the detection position. A disengagement window (74) used to operate the disengaging portion (28) is formed on a position of the rear portion (73) behind the disengaging portion (28).

  • Publication number: 20130237084
Abstract: A lock arm (12) is cantilevered back from a front end part of a housing main body (11). The lock arm (12) includes an accommodating recess (31) that is open toward a deformation space (25) therefor and toward the back. When the housing main body (11) is connected properly to a mating housing (50) and a detector (70) is pushed from a standby position to a detection position, a part of the detector (70) is inserted into the accommodating recess (31).

  • Publication number: 20130237083
Abstract: A detector (70) movable from an initial position to a detection position is mounted on a housing main body (11). The detector (70) includes a resilient arm (72) resiliently deformable in a height direction. The resilient arm (72) contacts a lock arm (12) from behind before the housing main body (11) is connected to a mating housing (50) to prevent a forward movement at an initial position. When the housing main body (11) is properly connected to the mating housing (50), the detector (70) reaches a detection position where the resilient arm (72) enters a deformation space (25) by being pushed forward from the initial position. At the initial position, the resilient arm (72) applies a pre-load to the lock arm (12) in the height direction.

  • Patent number: 8348707
Abstract: A terminal fitting (10) has a rectangular tubular box (11) with an open rear end. A tab (12) extends forward from the box (11) and a crimping portion (14) is behind the box (11) for connection to a wire (30). The box (11) includes a base plate (15), two side plates (16) extending from opposite left and right sides of the base plate (15), and a supporting plate (17) extending from the side plates (16) substantially parallel to the base plate (15). The rear end of the supporting plate (17) defines a locking portion (18) to engage a locking lance (49). Only one restricting plate (22) extends from an extending end edge of a supporting plate (17) toward the base plate (15) substantially parallel to the side plates (16). A rear end (22R) of the restricting plate (22) is in the box (11) forward of the locking portion (18).

  • Patent number: 7476123
Abstract: A connector is provided with a housing (10) to be connected with a mating connector housing (70) upon receiving a pushing force from behind, and a slider (40) (connection detecting member) to be mounted into the housing (10) relatively movably between a standby position and a connection position. The slider (40) includes such an operating plate (41) as to entirely cover the rear end surface of the housing (10) at a position behind the rear end surface of the connector housing (10). If the operating plate (41) is pushed forward, a connecting operation of two housings (10, 70) proceeds and the slider (40) is moved from the standby position to the connection position.

  • Patent number: 7458835
Abstract: A movable member (36) is located at a malfunction preventing position and a pair of functional terminals (25) are shorted by a shorting terminal (50) unless two housings (10, 20) are properly connected, whereas the movable member (36) is moved to a connection detecting position and the shorting terminal (50) shorts a pair of detection terminals (14) at the same time as being disengaged from the pair of functional terminals (25) when the two housings (10, 20) are properly connected. Since the shorting terminal (50) is commonly used to short the pair of functional terminals (25) for the malfunction prevention and the like and to short the pair of detection terminals (14) for the detection of a connected state of the two housings (10, 20), the number of parts can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 7404730
Abstract: A housing (10) has a lock arm (20) that pivots about a fulcrum (23) that is rearward of a pivoting portion (24) of the lock arm (20). A detection terminal (50) has a rear support (52) supported on the housing (10) rearward of the pivoting portion (24). An action portion (54) of the detection terminal (50) is engaged with the pivoting portion (24) and displaces with the pivoting portion (24). The lock arm (20) deforms during connection of the housing (10) and a mating housing (90) so that contacts (53) of the detection terminal (50) are not in contact with mating detection terminals (97). However, the lock arm (20) returns resiliently when the housings (10, 90) are connected properly so that the contacts (53) contact the mating detection terminals (97).

  • Patent number: 7361066
Abstract: A male terminal fitting (1) is formed by bending a flat metal plate worked into a specified shape and includes a contact (2), a rectangular tube (4) formed to be wider than the contact (2), and a link (3) between the contact (2) and the rectangular tube (4). The link (3) is not connected with the front edge of the upper surface of the rectangular tube (4) over the entire width. Thus, bending resistance against an external force can be improved by increasing deflectability while holding down bending rigidity.
