  • Publication number: 20020163404
Abstract: A band-pass filter includes electrodes formed on both upper and lower surfaces of a dielectric plate, and a plurality of non-electrode portions on the upper and lower surfaces of the dielectric plate so that the non-electrode portions face each other across the dielectric plate to form resonators in regions confined by the non-electrode portions on the dielectric plate. The resonators other than at least input- and output-stage resonators are n&lgr;/2 resonators, where &lgr; denotes one wavelength and n is an integer more than one. The first- and second-stage resonators, and the third- and fourth-stage resonators are magnetically (inductively) coupled, and the second- and third-stage resonators are capacitively or inductively coupled. The band-pass filter therefore provides satisfactory attenuation characteristic from the pass band to the stop band, and can also be compact and lightweight.

  • Publication number: 20020057143
Abstract: The invention provides a high frequency filter which can facilitate filter-characteristic adjustments and miniaturization and can obtain an excellent broadband characteristic. In addition, the invention provides a filter device using the high frequency filter, and an electronic apparatus incorporating the same. In this filter, a ground electrode is arranged on one of the main surfaces of a dielectric substrate. On the other main surface thereof there are arranged two or more microstrip lines, and one end of each microstrip line is grounded via a through-hole to form a high frequency filter. The microstrip lines and the shared through-hole constitute microstrip line resonators, which are coupled via the inductance of the through-hole. With this arrangement, there is no need for an additional coupling element. Thus, the size of the high frequency filter can be reduced. Furthermore, since a large coupling coefficient can be obtained, the high frequency filter can have a broadband characteristic.

  • Patent number: 6326866
Abstract: A bandpass filter is capable of forming attenuation extremes on both sides of a passband. Multiple microstrip line resonators, one end of each being an open terminal and the other end connecting to a ground electrode, are provided in a row, and the inner microstrip line resonators are bent in a C-shape so that the open terminals of the outer microstrip line resonators project further than the inner microstrip line resonators. The line of sight between the open terminals of the microstrip line resonators is improved and capacitance is formed there, so that attenuation extremes can be formed on both sides of the passband, and the amount of attenuation can be increased.

  • Patent number: 6195470
Abstract: Specified image transformation is applied to a first source video signal to generate a main image and symmetric image transformation is applied to a second source video signal same as or different from the first source video signal in accordance with the image transformation applied to the main image and the point, line, or plane specified as a symmetry yardstick to generate a symmetric image point-symmetric, line-symmetric, or plane-symmetric to the main image. Thereby, it is possible to easily obtain a symmetric image symmetric to a main image to which image transformation is applied only by specifying a point, line, or plane serving as a symmetry yardstick.

  • Patent number: 6016087
Abstract: In a coupled line, microstrip lines are formed so as to be arranged with a spacing that is narrower than the smallest possible space that is obtainable with a conventional electrode forming process, on a top side thereof spaced away from a dielectric substrate. The microstriplines have a trapezoid-shaped cross-section with the narrower major surface at the bottom, in contact with the dielectric substrate. Such formation makes it possible to strengthen the coupling between the microstrip lines, and to reduce the conductor loss of the microstrip lines.

  • Patent number: 5986525
Abstract: A line width on the grounded side of distributed-constant-line-type resonators which form a distributed-constant-line-type filter is made wider than a line width on the open side. By increasing the line width on the grounded side, where a larger electric current flows, of a distributed-constant-line-type resonator, the line resistance of the distributed-constant line decreases, making it possible to reduce the loss of the distributed-constant-line-type resonator and further to reduce the insertion loss of the distributed-constant-line-type filter. Further, by decreasing the line width on the open side to less than the line width on the grounded side, an increase in the size of the filter because the line width on the grounded side is increased can be prevented.
