  • Patent number: 4758376
Abstract: The detergent compositions of the present invention comprising a phosphate surfactant and an amidoamine amphoteric surfactant; a hydroxysulfobetaine, aliphatic lactylate, or aliphatic glycolate, have excellent foam characteristics such as foaming property, foaming power, and rapidity of foaming, as well as excellent low-temperature stability, detergency, and mildness to the skin and hair. Therefore, these compositions can be effectively employed for shampoos and cleaning agents for infants which require not only good detergency but also a low incidence of skin irritation.

  • Patent number: 4750796
Abstract: An optical sensor which comprises an optical waveguide comprising a cladding and an optical waveguide member made of a transparent elastomer which is surrounded by the cladding and through which light is propagated, wherein an amount of light to be propagated through the waveguide member is changed according to a degree of elastic deformation of the waveguide member, which is not affected by electrical and/or magnetic fields.

  • Patent number: 4708833
Abstract: An elastomeric optical fiber comprising a core made of an elastomer with rubbery elasticity and a cladding surrounding the core and having low attenuation of light transmission is produced by a method comprising flowing down a liquid polymer for the core with cross-linking it, and simultaneously with or after the formation of the core, providing the cladding around the core.

  • Patent number: 4228754
Abstract: A storage tank 1 is divided into oil and ballast water chambers 3, 4 by an elastic partition membrane 2. To prevent the membrane from blocking the oil and water intake/discharge ports 5, 6 during the final stages of loading or unloading, the internal edges and corners of the tank are chamfered by apertured partition plates, supported wire mesh screens or the like, and the intake/discharge ports communicate with the spaces defined behind such plates or screens.

  • Patent number: 4031990
Abstract: There is disclosed a set of current collecting elements used for a current collecting roller which feeds current to a transportation apparatus. The set of current collecting elements comprises a plurality of electroconductive elements arranged in juxtaposed relation to one another, said electroconductive elements being tightly and rigidly secured to each other by a lead wire at the lower portion of said elements. The current collecting roller using the present sets of current collecting elements is protected from being damaged by heat being generated between current collecting member and each of the electroconductive elements.
