  • Publication number: 20180126528
Abstract: A fastener driver comprises a driver blade movable from a retracted position to a driven position and a lifter assembly for moving the driver blade from the driven position toward the retracted position. The fastener driver also includes a first sensor to detect the driver blade in the driven position, a latch which, in a locked position, maintains the lifter assembly in an engaged position, an actuator coupled to the latch for moving the latch between the locked position and a released position, in which the lifter assembly may move away from the driver blade, and a controller electrically connected with the first sensor and the actuator. In response to an absence of a signal from the first sensor after a predetermined time following initiation of a fastener driving operation, the controller triggers the actuator to move the latch from the locked position to the released position.

  • Publication number: 20180126532
Abstract: A fastener driver comprises a drive blade movable from a retracted position to an extended, driven position for driving a fastener into a workpiece and a gas spring mechanism for driving the drive blade from the retracted position to the driven position. The gas spring mechanism includes a drive cylinder and a drive piston attached to the drive blade for movement therewith. The drive piston is acted on by a driving force resulting from a pressure differential created by the gas spring mechanism. The fastener driver also includes an adjustable valve for selectively limiting a flow of gas into the drive cylinder above the drive piston, or a flow of ambient air at atmospheric pressure from the drive cylinder beneath the drive piston, thereby changing the pressure differential acting on the drive piston, as the drive piston and the drive blade move from the retracted position to the extended position.

  • Publication number: 20170355069
Abstract: A fastener driver includes a main housing, a drive blade movable from a retracted position to a driven position for driving a fastener into a workpiece, and a gas spring mechanism for driving the drive blade from the retracted position to the driven position. The gas spring mechanism includes a piston movable between a retracted position and a driven position. The fastener driver also includes an extensible cylinder for moving the drive blade from the driven position toward the retracted position. The extensible cylinder includes a cylinder housing coupled one of the main housing or the drive blade, and a rod coupled to the other of the main housing or the drive blade. A vacuum is created in the cylinder housing for biasing the drive blade toward the retracted position.

  • Publication number: 20170240282
Abstract: An aft pivot assembly can include a mount device securable to an aft portion of a payload of an aircraft for facilitating release of the payload. The aft pivot assembly can include a shaft operable with the mount device and a release component, the shaft being rotatable about multiple shaft axes relative to the mount device so as to either minimize or eliminate carriage loads about the aft portion, while reacting jettison loads during a jettison event or phase. The rotation of the shaft about its shaft axes can further be limited via a limit device. As the payload transitions from a carriage phase to a jettison phase, the shaft moves in multiple degrees of freedom and in multiple axes relative to the mount device.

  • Publication number: 20170073261
Abstract: Sludge from an anaerobic digester is treated to recover one or more of fibers, or solids or liquids with a high nutrient content. The solids or liquids can be used as a fertilizer. The fibers can be used in a plant growing medium. Solids are separated from liquids in the sludge and dried. The solids may be dried to produce a flake or pellet. Ammonia in the liquids is recovered and used to produce a concentrated acidic ammonium salt solution. This solution may be mixed with the solids to produce a nitrogen enhanced solid. The fibers and solids or liquids can also be used in combination to produce an enhanced plant growing medium. A device and process for removing ammonia from a liquid can be used in the system or separately.

  • Publication number: 20170054231
Abstract: A terminal block marker designed to identify a terminal block. The terminal block marker includes a rigid base and a flexible film insert. The rigid base includes a top with a first arm having a first inwardly extending projection and a second arm having a second inwardly extending projection. The rigid base also includes a bottom with legs extending in a direction opposite the arms to hold the terminal block marker in the terminal block. A flexible film insert with identification markings is installed on the rigid base. The flexible film insert is positioned under a first projection of the first arm and rotated downward until the flexible film insert snaps under the second projection of the second arm. The first and second projections retain the flexible film insert on the rigid base to form the terminal block marker.
