Abstract: A method of a digital photo frame (DPF) with mode switching function is provided. The method includes: determining whether the DPF is in a DPF mode or a TV mode upon receiving a power off signal; detecting whether any multimedia file exists in the DPF if the DPF is in the TV mode; and switching the DPF from the TV mode to the DPF mode if any multimedia file exists in the storage. A related DPF is also provided.

Abstract: A media renting system includes a media rental provider and a client machine. The provider communicates with the client machine via a data transmission network. The provider stores user information including a payment card number of a user and a hardware ID of the client machine. In a related media renting method, when the user information from the client machine is recorded in the provider, the client machine succeeds to rent the media file and displays the media file. When rental fees of the media file are greater than or equal to a purchase price of the media file, the provider deducts the purchase price from a balance of the payment card and binds the media file to the client machine.

Abstract: A mobile electronic system for sharing a multimedia playlist over a communication network to a receiving mobile electronic device is disclosed. The system generates a co-processing request according to operations of the user via an input unit and sends the co-processing request to the sharing mobile electronic device. The system may receive a proposing playlist listing multimedia files to be shared with the sharing mobile electronic device and determines if one or more multimedia files listed in the proposing playlist exist in the data storage of the sharing mobile electronic device. The system generates a matching playlist according to the determined multimedia files, sends the matching playlist to the sharing mobile electronic device, and plays the multimedia files listed in the matching playlist.

Abstract: A mobile electronic system for sharing a multimedia playlist over a communication network between a sending mobile electronic device and a receiving mobile electronic device is disclosed. The system includes selecting one or more multimedia files from the plurality of multimedia files according to a predetermined selection and generating a co-process request and a proposed playlist, receiving a file status table transmitted from the receiving mobile electronic device and obtaining addresses of the multimedia file listed in the file status table to generate a co-processing playlist. The system further playing multimedia files listed in the co-processing playlist and if the status of the multimedia files in the file status table, and if the multimedia files do not exist in the receiving mobile electronic device, the sending mobile electronic device simultaneously sends the multimedia file to the receiving mobile electronic device.

Abstract: A digital photo frame with a function of automatically power off is provided. The digital photo frame includes a display unit, a power management unit, a storage unit, a detection unit, and a processing unit. The detection unit detects whether there is some one around the digital photo frame. The processing unit controls the power management unit to stop providing power to the display unit if the detection unit detects nobody around the digital photo frame in a first predetermined time period, and controls the power management unit to stop providing power to the digital photo frame if the detection unit detects nobody around the digital photo frame in a second predetermined time period.

Abstract: A mobile electronic system for sharing a multimedia playlist over a communication network to a receiving mobile electronic device is disclosed. The system comprises a co-process request generating module configured for selecting one or more multimedia files from the plurality of multimedia files according to a predetermined selection, generating a co-process request according to the selected multimedia files, generating a proposed playlist according to the selected multimedia files. A feedback information receiving module is configured for receiving a matching playlist transmitted from the receiving mobile electronic device and saving the playlist as a co-processing playlist. A play controlling module is configured for playing multimedia files listed in the co-processing playlist.

Abstract: The present invention provides an image display apparatus and an image display method adapted for the apparatus. The apparatus stores a plurality of image files and metadata of each of the image files, and provides current timestamp. The metadata for each image includes an upload timestamp, a last-displayed timestamp, and a weighted value. A load-timestamp period is a time difference between the current timestamp and the upload timestamp. A not-displayed timestamp period is also a difference in time between the current timestamp and the last-displayed timestamp. The weighted value is calculated according to the load-timestamp period and the not-displayed timestamp period. The apparatus displays selected image files in accordance with the weighted values of the selected image files in an order. The present invention also provides a method of displaying image files adapted for the image display apparatus.

The apparatus stores a plurality of image files and metadata of each of the image files. The metadata includes a selection count and a weighted value of the image file. The weighted value is calculated according to the selection count. The image display method includes steps of: receiving image selection signals; receiving an image display signal; reading the weighted values of selected image files to generate a list in an order according to the weighted values; updating the selection counts of the selected image files; calculating the weighted values of the selected image files according to the updated selection counts, and storing the updated selection counts and the calculated weighted values as metadata; and displaying the selected image files according to the list.

Abstract: An image displaying device for displaying images and related information is provided. The image displaying device includes a display unit, a storage and a central controller. The storage stores at least an image file and at least a related information file associated with the image files. The file records are sorted in a sort field which is selected from one of the attributes, the method includes: acquiring the file list; generating a presenting signal for activating the host to present the acquired file list; receiving a file selection signal generated from the host, and reading a corresponding file; executing the read file; and updating the file list.
