    Abstract: A wireless device in a wireless communication system is configured to perform measurements on a set of candidate links for supporting a network node in the system to make a decision as to which of the candidate links is to be a target link for a link switch. The wireless device reports (e.g., at the physical layer) measured candidate links one link subset at a time in order of the wireless device's preference for the target link, until the wireless device receives a target indication signal indicating which of the candidate links in the set is to be the target link. Any given link subset reports one or more candidate links which the wireless device has measured for the decision. Responsive to receiving the target indication signal, the wireless device performs the link switch to the indicated target link.

A modulation scheme for modulating the information is determined based on the link quality.     Abstract: In one aspect, a RAN node determines UE candidate sets for MUST scheduling where each set includes near UE and far UE MUST positions. The node orders the UE candidate sets according to a scheduling performance metric for each UE candidate set, evaluated with respect to the entire band. The node resolves MUST pairing conflicts by excluding, from the UE candidate sets, any UE candidate set that includes a UE that (a) is also present in a UE candidate set having a better scheduling performance metric and (b) has an inconsistent MUST position for interference cancellation with respect to the better UE candidate set, to obtain a reduced set of UE candidate sets. The node performs subband scheduling on each subband, using either MUST or OMA transmission scheduling for each subband. The reduced set is used for MUST scheduling. MUST/OMA subband conflicts may also be resolved.

A device in the wireless communication network determines a beam switch mode based on a first measurement on quality of a current beam serving a mobile terminal. The beam switch mode is associated with at least one candidate beam. Then, the device sends an indication of the beam switch mode to the mobile terminal to trigger the mobile terminal to perform a second measurement on a mobile reference signal associated with the at least one candidate beam. In response to receiving the second measurement from the mobile terminal, the device determines a target beam from the at least one candidate beam and the current beam based on the second measurement. In this way, the target beam may be determined in an efficient way.
