    Abstract: A method for determining to establish a multi-protocol label switching traffic engineering tunnel. A first PE receives an IGP notification message including information of a Mesh Group to which a second PE belongs and role information of the second PE released by the second PE. Then, it determines, according to information of Mesh Groups to which the two belong, whether the two belong to a same Mesh Group. After determining that the two belong to the same Mesh Group, the first PE determines, according to role information of the two, whether to establish the MPLS TE tunnel to the second PE.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a forward entry generating method, a forward node, and a controller. The method includes: receiving, by a first forward node, MPLS forwarding path information, which is sent by a controller, of a MPLS forwarding path, where the MPLS forwarding path information includes: ingress node information, transit node information, and egress node information; sending the MPLS forwarding path information to a third forward node; and generating an MPLS forward entry of the first forward node according to the MPLS forwarding path information. According to the method, the forward node, and the controller in embodiments of the present invention, it can be avoided that the controller sends, in a point-to-point manner, MPLS forward entries to all forward nodes that an MPLS forwarding path passes through, thereby effectively improving efficiency of generating an MPLS forward entry and reducing occupation of outbound bandwidth of the controller.

Repeated BUM traffic that is transmitted in a bearer network and is not finally sent to a remote site is reduced; therefore, a waste of bandwidth in the bearer network is reduced.

The method includes: a PE device in the MVPN determines a role of the PE device in the MVPN and a working status corresponding to the role, where the role is a root node and/or a leaf node, and the working status is active or standby; the PE device generates a BGP update message, carrying an IP address of the PE device, an identifier of the MVPN, the role of the PE device, and the working status of the PE device; and the PE device sends the BGP update message to a BGP neighbor of the PE device in the MVPN. The method and apparatus may alleviate a configuration workload and reduce an error occurrence during an application of a BGP-based MVPN.

A system for establishing tunnels is also provided. The establishment of a reverse tunnel may be automatically triggered after a forward tunnel is established, and a bidirectional tunnel is established.

A first node creates an OAM instance according to OAM configuration information set by a user, and sends the OAM configuration information to a second nodet; the second node creates an OAM instance according to the OAM configuration information; and the first node performs OAM detection by sending an OAM packet to the second node and/or receiving an OAM packet from the second node, where the sending and/or receiving is implemented by using the OAM instance of the first node. According to the present invention, not only an OAM configuration procedure is simplified and manpower is saved, but also consistency of OAM configuration at two ends can be ensured. In addition, a configuration delay in this dynamic configuration manner may be ignored.
