    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a path determining method, apparatus, and system. In a hybrid network including one controller for implementing a control function, the controller may separately obtain network topology information of a first network and a second network of different network types by using a same control channel protocol. When the controller obtains a path determining requirement for the data transmission path, because the controller has the network topology information of the first network and the second network, during computation of the data transmission path, the controller can determine a path computation result including transmission path parts of the first network and the second network, without performing additional information exchange with another device, and send the path computation result to the first network device. In this way, planning efficiency of the data transmission path is improved.

The method applied to an Ingress PE includes: determining, in an Ethernet virtual private network instance (EVI), that a state of the EVI on a first Egress PE is Active, where an Ethernet virtual private network (EVPN) corresponding to the EVI includes a first customer edge (CE); determining that a state of the EVI on a second Egress PE is Inactive; skipping, forwarding a broadcast, unknown unicast, and multicast (BUM) packet to the second Egress PE, where the BUM packet is from the first CE; and forwarding, the BUM packet to the first Egress PE. According to the application, repeated BUM traffic that is transmitted in a bearer network and is not finally sent to a remote site is reduced; therefore, a waste of bandwidth in the bearer network is reduced.

In the method, the network node receives a packet carrying an SRH, where the SRH includes one or more TLV fields and a TLV processing attribute, the TLV processing attribute indicates whether the network node needs to process the TLV fields included in the SRH, and the network node determines, based on the TLV processing attribute, processing of the TLV fields included in the SRH. In this way, any segment endpoint node on a segment routing network may determine the TLV processing attribute by using the SRH, so as to determine whether the TLV fields included in the SRH need to be processed.

    Abstract: A packet processing method implements a QoS guarantee. The method includes: obtaining a flow identification based on packet attribute information and a flow matching rule, generating a flow policy that includes a correspondence between the flow identification and a flow behavior, determining a forwarding path of a packet including the packet attribute information, sending the flow matching rule to an ingress device of the forwarding path, and sending the flow policy to a first network device on the forwarding path. The ingress device adds the flow identification to the packet including the packet attribute information, and sends the packet. The first network device receives the packet including the flow identification, obtains the flow behavior from the flow policy based on the flow identification, and processes the packet in a packet processing mode corresponding to the flow behavior.

    Abstract: Described herein are methods and devices (e.g., routers) for performing segment routing over a multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) network. A method can include a router of the MPLS network receiving a packet, and the router modifying the packet by adding a segment routing header (SRH) type MPLS extension header. The SRH type MPLS extension header includes one or more segment identifiers (SIDs) that collectively provide a SID list for use in segment routing. The method further comprises the router copying one of the one or more SIDs in the SRH type MPLS extension header to a top of an MPLS label stack, and the router forwarding the packet as modified to another router of the MPLS network based on the one of the one or more SIDs included in a label stack entry at the top of the MPLS label stack.

The method includes: generating, by a network device, a first packet, where the first packet includes a field used to indicate a first protocol, the first packet further includes a field carrying data of the first protocol, and a protocol followed by the first packet is different from the first protocol; and sending, by the network device, the first packet to a peer network device. Because the protocol followed by the first packet is different from the first protocol, regardless of which protocol the first protocol is specifically, the data of the first protocol may be exchanged by using the first packet. In other words, this application provides a general protocol, to transmit the data of the first protocol. This improves packet sending flexibility.
